Benq bo prvi z 16kratnim DVD pekacem na trgu

BenQ on April 8 announced that it will offer the DW830A, its first 8x DVD+R DL (double layer) burner model, in mid-May and the DW1600, its first 16x DVD+RW model, in early June.

Both models are likely to be the first of their types around the world, according to Alpha Tsai, associate vice president for the company’s Imaging Network Business Group. The company is developing the two models with technological assistance from Philips.

The DW1600 will support double-layer DVD+R discs, Tsai indicated. The 16x speed will reduce the DVD+R writing time to less than 6 minutes, with the disc’s rotation speed reaching 10,000 rpm (revolutions per minute), Tsai pointed out.

BenQ has decided to jump directly 8x to 16x, skipping 12x drives. In contrast, Lite-On IT, Taiwan’s largest optical drive maker presently, will first offer a 12x model later this month and then a 16x model next quarter.

8kratna hitrost bo kar sweet spot po mojem. Tudi kar se medijev tice in mam obcutek, da bo NEC pri meni se zelo dolgo casa.

mar bi raj povecal kvaliteto zapisa pri 4x in 8x, pa se se mal posvetil DL za dvd+r in dvd+rw, pa tuki povecal hitrost zapisu na vsaj 4x za 2. layer... podiranje hitrostnih rekordov je pa popolnoma nesmiselno...
ampak dobr, vsako tele ma svoje vesele.
