Just to make it clear:
When you work with Photoshop the memory the graphics card will ever
need is that to show the raster image. You calculate this amount by
multiplying height and width of the image by three (for 24-bit) or by
four (for slightly faster 32 bit where 1 byte is unused per pixel).
For 1600 x 1200 pixels the 24-bis memory needed is just below 6 MB.
Any "bigger" memory is a waste of money - even a 8 MB Martox
Millenium2 is sufficient.
The "more memory" on the current gamer cards (like the one you
mentioned) is used when interactive 3D animation has textures stored
in the graphics adapter and for a secondary image buffer. Both is not
[needed for|used by] Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
OTOH: The video signal of those old Matrox cards is a lot better than
that of most current ATI cards, even at high refresh rates - for
someone who sits in front of the screen for a whole day this is a
benefit (sharper image !).

Ta grafična je za tvoje potrebe čiso vredu. Pri meni na enem računalniku (procesor K6-2/300, 256 KB) deluje čisto vredu v povezavi z WinXP.
Sinclair ZX Spectrum [Zilog Z80A - 3.5 MHz, 48kB, dvojni kasetofon,
TV-OUT, radirke, Sinclair-Basic], Sinclair ZX-81 [Z80A, 3.25MHZ, 1kB]

Ta zadeva deluje 100% preverjeno. Komp P3 450mhz 512mb rama rage pro 8mb grafika. Mi deluje pod Win XP zelo vredu. Deluje celo Counter-Strike skoraj brez zatikanja na low seveda.
Just keep on trying, keep on flying. I will be the light.

kolegu dela točno taka kartica, na resoluciji 1280×1024 in 17" Samsungu in WinXP pro+SP1
