O koristih in škodi: Ukrajinci pozivajo, da je treba Gerharda Schröderja sankcionirati. Gerhard je predsednik upravnega odbora Nord Stream AG. Američani tudi govorijo o sankcijah proti udeleženim podjetjem (Gazprom, PEG (E.On), Wintershall (Basf), Engie, Niederlandse Gasunie). Ampak Merklova je zadnjič precej odločno zavrnila angleške pozive k dodatnim sankcijam proti Rusiji, tako da brez močnega pritiska ZDA ne bo iz tega nič. Nemci so Angležem celo še malo pokadili nazaj, da so pravzaprav sami največje off-shore središče za ruski kapital, ki je nekje vmes med oligarhi, obveščevalnimi službami, mafijo in državo.
Skratka do NS2 posledice ne segajo. Angleži pa nič kaj ne govorijo o kakršnihkoli ukrepih v povezavi s City-jem in ruskimi podjetji. Ljudje pa večinoma verjamejo, da so Skripala zastrupile ruske (para)obveščevalne službe. Če to ni priprava za kaj drugega, je težko govoriti o kakršnihkoli koristih.

Potem pa naj dajo dokaze na plano. Verjetno bi tudi marsikaterega laika in nejevernega zanimala/prepričala razlaga in podrobnosti.
Malo počakaj. Primer je malenkost bolj kompleksen kot MH17, kjer moral samo videt buk lanser na par fotografijah.
Se pa tudi Rusija že glasno dere, da ne priznajejo taj sud (t.j. preiskave OPCW) in seveda servirajo različne nemogoče teorije.

Če se spomnim, sta bili zadnji dve "daring and sudden" potezi Rusije v zadnjem desetletju, v Gruziji in v Ukrajini.
Rusi so precej natančno povedali NATO (Ruski ambasador v NATO Rogozin), kaj nameravajo storiti, če bo Gruzija še naprej poskušala postati članica NATO. To je priznati in podpreti neodvisnost Južne Osetije in Abhazije, kjer konflikti izvirajo že iz časa pred Putinom.
V Ukrajini pa so po oranžni revoluciji celo Angleži mirili ukrajinske nacionaliste v vladi, da Rusi ne bodo mirno stali, če jih nameravajo kakorkoli omejevati pri dostopu do Sevastopola in naj se za božjo voljo malo umirijo. Putin pa je to tudi v svojih govorih večkrat jasno oznanjeval, kaj bo storil, če bi ga poskušali odrezati od Črnega morja.
Skratka "sudden" je podoben PR bullshit kot na drugi strani rusofobija.

IMHO se tule niso samo znebili izdajalca, temveč so opravili tudi sondažo mednarodnih odnosov. ZDA bluzi, otočani so zaradi Brexita na bojni nogi s celino. Tudi zato delujejo šokirani nad odgovorom. To bi bil odličen scenarij, če bi ga našli do smrti pretepenega, zaklanega, ustreljenega, utopljenega, zažganega ali usmrčenega na skoraj katerikoli drug znan način.
Tole zahteva, da je ruski vohun najprej ukradel načrte kako pridelati ta bojni strup (ker ga bojda Rusija že leta nima več), pridobil kemikalije za nakup (precej lažje boš dobil kamion prekurzorjev za sintetične droge kot tole), se ga naučil delati brez za to potrebne izobrazbe in ne da bi neslavno končal (ali na avtobusu našel srečko z glavnim dobitkom na lotu in se odločil za spremembo življenja, to je bolj verjeten scenarij) in potem zastrupil žrtev - namesto da bi izbral eno izmed zgoraj opisanih možnosti, brez da bi za to obstajal kak poseben razlog.
Mnja. Možnost je, ja, tudi različna od nič je. Morda - tega si nikakor ne upam trditi - je celo večja, kot da se je strup tam formiral spontano, kot posledica zaporedja res velikega števila (skoraj) neskončno neverjetnih kvantnih dogodkov. Čmarlica 57 in to, saj poznaš. Zadeva dejansko deluje, ni samo nek zabaven umotvor.

Se ne spomnim nobenih Pulitzerjev za Tonkinški zaliv ali iraške WMD in podobne zgodbe. Spomnim pa se nekaj milijonov mrtvih, uničenih držav, razmaha terorizma, grabeža naravnih resursov in še česa a tudi tukaj ni bilo Pulitzerjev.
Spomnim se tudi, kak vik in krik je bil še teden-dva nazaj čez nekaj Rusov, ki bi naj lastnoročno derailali ameriške predsedniške volitve, odkar se je odkrila Cambridge Analytica pa zadeva zelo hitro polzi v pozabo.

Discussion of services offered by Cambridge Analytica was apparently going right to the top of Lukoil, even though its retail operations in America are a very minor corner of the oil and gas giant’s empire. Asking for a detailed presentation of Cambridge Analyticas’s work in July 2014, Nix told his colleague the document would be “shared with the CEO of the business”.
The chief executive of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, is a former Soviet oil minister who has said the strategic aims of Lukoil are closely aligned with those of Russia. “I have only one task connected with politics, to help the country and the company. I’m not close to Mr Putin, but I treat him with great respect,” he told the New York Times.

Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower who has come forward to talk to the Observer, said it was never entirely clear what the Russian firm hoped to get from the operation.
“Alexander Nix’s presentation didn’t make any sense to me,” said Wylie, who left Cambridge Analytica soon after the initial meetings. “If this was a commercial deal, why were they so interested in our political targeting?”
Lukoil did not respond to requests for comments.
