Strežnik, NAS, torrent

pred nekaj meseci sem si iz starega Thunderbirda sestavil NAS in tiskalniski streznik. V racunalniku je poleg omenjenega Thunderbird procesorja se 128MB rama, dva trda diska po 6GB v RAID1 (sotfverski) načinu in en trdi disk 40GB za /home mapo. Gor sem namestil Gentoo (navodila so na strani od Gentooja). Med instalacijo sem imel v racunalniku graficno kartico, ki sem jo potem vzel.

Administracijo tega racunalnika opravljam preko SSH protokola, za sporazumevanje med Windows masinami skrbi Samba, tiskanje sem uredil preko CUPS streznika. Namestil sem tudi paket, ki mi omogoca administracijo preko web vmesnika (tako kot za vecino routerjev).

racunalnik pridno dela. nekaj tezav imam se s tiskanjem, ki se ne dela tako, ko sem si zamislil, ampak bo ze.

klient za torrente: rtorrent. majhen, brez graficnega vmesnika, nastavljenega imam tako, da periodicno gleda eno mapo, v katero skopiram .torrent datoteke
klient za mulo: mlDonkey. nastavljam ga lahko preko web vmesnika.
v prostem casu pa ta racunalnik folda na veliko

stvar je taka. Gentoo ni najbolj enostavna distribucija. Precej časa boš porabil za njegovo namestitev, se pa boš veliko več navadil.

če imaš adsl/mrežo, kar tole. ti pa priporočam, da imaš poleg še en računalnik, da boš zraven lepo prebiral navodila. je bolj udobno kot brat v konzoli

torrentflux-a pa ne poznam tako, da ne bom nič rekel.

Jaz imam za NSS (Network Storage Server) tako narejeno, da se preko VNCja povežem in lahko delam kaj želim.
Laufam pa Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition gor.
Brez monitorja, miške in tipkovnice ... vse gre preko mrežne.

Iskal sem in iskal, pa na koncu najdu nekaj kar mi odgovarja. Evo naredu sem tole s tega linka http://www.techsential.com/linux/the-ultimate-torrentfluxubuntu-box, s prijatljevo pomočjo. On je bolj maher za linux in mi je pomagal, če ne bi jaz to en mesec pacal.

Dela ful dobr. Not ma tud že iskalnik za isohun, torrentspy,.... sambe v bistvu sploh ne rabiš, ker lahko kar tam vse narediš (brišeš, kopiraš na disk). edin če hočeš streamat pol jo nastaviš.

Namestil sem tudi paket, ki mi omogoca administracijo preko web vmesnika (tako kot za vecino routerjev).

katerga pa? jaz bi imel nekaj takega, če je treba kaj poštimat, da ni treba vse priklapljat nazaj (monitor,....)

paket se imenuje Webmin in je na voljo v vseh Linux distribucijah.

64MB bi moralo biti dovolj, čeprav je več rama boljše, ker potem sistem manj uporablja swap.

nastavitve so v datoteki .rtorrent.rc, ki se nahaja v tvoji /home/(user) mapi. Datoteka je nevidna, tako ti je ukaz "ls" ne bo prikazal. Moja zgleda tako:

Kaj pa sploh je NAS ?

sam kaj, ko nekateri trackerji (bitmetv) ne dovolijo drugoh programov kot utorrent, azureus in se shadow mogoce..
