Na enem računalniku sem ustvaril igro, na drugem jo hočem najt pa ne najde. Pri obeh računalnikih je izklopljen požarni zid.

Kaj je še treba narediti?

Če se ti ne da čarati z nastavitvami... mi smo včasih uporabljali Hamachi in je šlo najbolj simple... pa še folk se lahko pridruži iz koder hočeš brez težav...

Potem pa imaš tule še linke do tega, kako se nastavi računalnik za LAN, kar pa pride prav samo če nimaš interneta (Hamachi).

Boš na hitro videl, da morata biti v isti grupi in da moraš omogočit file and printer sharing...

Pred časom so na takrat na redditu odgovorili sledeče:

Ne vem, če deluje navadni t.i. "offline LAN".

DE uses the Xbox Live API's for matchmatching, but once you're in a game lobby it uses WebRTC to communicate with all the other players in the session. My guess is whatever settings you changed did not impact WebRTC.

DE is a peer to peer title, so all clients must have connections to all other clients. This topology is commonly looked down on vs. a dedicated server approach, but the advantage is low cost (there's no need to maintain a fleet of dedicated servers running the game code).

The exception is when you click "host as dedicated server". In this mode the host serves as a packet relay for (almost) all packets. Each client sends its command to the host, which immediately relays them to all other clients. Still, even in this mode, the peer to peer network topology is kept active, it's just mostly unused. The game is always synchronous lockstep even when this option is checked, meaning all clients must execute the game in exactly the same way as all other clients, or it quickly goes out of sync.

DE uses its own custom reliable messaging system layered on top of WebRTC. We spent months having many test games over the net to tune it.

Because DE is peer to peer multiplayer should work basically forever (assuming Xbox Live lasts forever!).

Mi zna kdo iz izkušenj na kratko odgovoriti, ali lahko kupljeno igro za PC, npr. AoE DE, namestim na dva domača računalnika in nastavim LAN povezavo za igranje "eden proti drugemu"?

Do 4.5.2023 so na Steam in v M$ Store izdatni popusti.

Ali moraš imeti v primeru nakupa v Microsoft Store tudi nameščeno posebno aplikacijo (Game Pass) oziroma biti povezan, tako kot pri Steam?
