Jp, zanimivi so takšni Twitter accounti, ki se povečini pogovarjajo sami s seboj in iz katerih je jasno vidno kam pes taco moli. Seveda je zelo majhna verjetnost, da je iz Venezuele pobegnil zaradi političnega preganjanja temveč je odšel zaradi vsesplošne revščine, a mu ne potegne kdo je za to odgovoren.
Hejterjev Blumenthala je kolikor hočeš. Morda kdo upravičeno a Blumenthal o zadevah piše dalj časa in informirano ter v nasprotju z zahodnimi MSM. Že to je hvalevredno. Če je na plačilni listi Kremlja ne vem, nisem videl dokazov kot so na razpolago za Integrity Initiative (link1, link2), vključno z imeni in priimki ter ostalimi podatki. Blumenthal tudi odkrito piše o svojih pogledih in zakaj so ti takšni (link).

Woke up to my inbox full of the far right calling me a terrorist because the fake “Imam of peace” posted the photo of me meeting Anjem Choudary for an interview and tried to paint me as his friend/supporter by removing the context of why I met him and what I said about him.
It’s this kind of thing that gets people arrested or killed.
Guys, I know most of you far right types are too stupid to read basic English, but please try harder. Choudary thinks people like me are an abomination that should be murderered.
It’s amazing that a journalist like Louis Theroux gets to spend weeks embedded with Nazis without being associated with them but I interview one extremist and then refuse to publish our interview because it serves nothing other than his extremist propaganda, yet I’m tarred for it

Choudary was smart enough to see through what I was attempting to do in the interview. As a result, me and @mgdowney decided not to publish or provide AC with another platform.
I have been falsely targeted as a terrorist for years over this interview.
As a result, I have to wake up to hundreds of messages along the lines of:
‘Go kill urself jihadi rat’

Cousins Khaled Mustafa Qurmo, 27, and Khaled Abdel Majid Qurmo, 30, were driving their friend home on Oct. 26 when helicopters fired at their van, according to the friend, Barakat Ahmad Barakat, 30, who survived the attack.
Barakat said he and his friends rushed out of the car, but one fell, his legs filled with shrapnel. Barakat took his other friend in his arms.

In 2003 one of my EOD instructors called BLU-97 bomblets "engineer killers." In 2014, as a new jschool grad, I knew there must be a story there. Been reporting it out ever since. We published today in @NYTimesAtWar. That instructor said of all the things Uncle Sam has made over the years, the BLU-97 is truly one of the worst. No render-safe procedure (aka no way to defuze it), and duds are so sensitive that the only thing you can do is blow them in place without touching them
The CBU-87 cluster bomb is an "area attack weapon" that dispenses 202 BLU-97 bomblets over an area roughly 800 ft x 400 ft. In 1991, they made their combat debut in Desert Storm.
The US Air Force dropped 13,941 CBU-87s containing 2,027,070 BLU-97s. About 20% failed to detonate
The morning of 26FEB1991, the Army's 27th Engineer Battalion reached Objective WHITE: the As Salman Airfield in southern Iraq.
When CENTCOM planners had expected the war to drag on and suffer tens of thousands of casualties, this airfield was to be a major logistics base
Days before they crossed the berm into Iraq, a four-man EOD team was fragged out to the battalion. They were not well received. The engineers told them they had the situation under control, and the EOD techs were just along for the ride.
The night before they arrived at As Salman, intel reports said they could expect to find GATOR mines on the airfield. GATORs were a new type of landmine, also dispensed as a cluster munition and making its debut in Desert Storm. The engineers said they'd take care of them. GATORs popped out a number of nearly-invisible tripwires that were extremely hard to detect even under the best of daylight conditions. The engineers thought they could sweep them at night using red-filtered flashlights.
Bad idea, said EOD.
We'll be careful, said the engineers.
When they reconned the 10,000-ft airstrip, they found a dud Mk-82 500-lb bomb on the north end, and 10-15x BLU-97s at the south end. The engineers' Alpha Company, led by Cpt. Mario Fajardo, had the runway clearance mission. EOD warned that BLU-97's could not be moved. We'll be careful, Cpt. Fajardo said. The senior-ranking EOD tech, a staff sergeant, lost the argument based on rank. The battalion spread out along the airfield. EOD was ordered to sit in their trucks.
All the while, another EOD staff sergeant on the team named Mike Crick was taking notes in a logbook.
As soon as they'd linked up with the 27th Eng. Batt., they knew there was bad blood, and the engineers were dangerously ignorant of the hazards they'd encounter. Crick's logbook entry for 1630, 26FEB1991 tells what happened next
The investigation report makes it clear that Fajardo was convinced by a platoon sergeant to break protocol and pick up BLU-97s by hand and stack them for a single disposal shot.
The PSG thought they were just wasting time. Five other soldiers died with them for their mistake
For 28 years, folks have puzzled over why the explosion happened. But the only people who know exactly why that pile of bomblets went high-order are all dead. Fajardo was born in Ecuador, but moved to the U.S. as a child and grew up in Queens.

At that time, the Pentagon erroneously reported that Fajardo and the others at As Salman were killed by landmines. The military never corrected that story publicly. Eventually I reached surviving family members for each of the 7 KIAs.
Some knew the truth, others still did not. The Times wrote a lengthy story about Fajardo & other NY-area troops who died in the war.
One of those mentioned is Spc. Cindy Beaudoin of Plainfield, Conn. The military said she stepped on a landmine, but she didn't. She was killed by a dud submunition

The inscription from his mother Sonia says that he was her pride and joy.
I didn’t know that inscription was there until I saw it in person. Of all the surprises I encountered in reporting this story out, I didn’t expect to find something at the last minute that would just emotionally crush me.

Ne vidim razloga, da ne bi bila tudi kakšna vsebina dopisovanja vrste Cease & Desist, kot tudi njen sam obstoj hkrati uvrščene med poslovne skrivnosti.
Na kratko: Tareq je zbral dokaze in dokumentacijo, kako so ZDA v nekem drugem primeru bistveno vplivale na vsebino poročila OPCW, tako da se ni omenjalo za ZDA neprijetnih dejstev. Newsweeku se tega ni zdelo vredno objaviti. Tareq je dal odpoved in napovedal, da bo to objavil drugje. Emails And Reading Comprehension: OPCW Douma Coverage Misses Crucial Facts
Over the weekend, WikiLeaks released an email from an employee within the OPCW Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) indicating that the OPCW “misrepresents the facts he and his colleagues discovered on the ground”. This email has since been used to call into question the impartiality and effectiveness of the OPCW’s conclusion about the alleged chemical weapon attack in Douma, Syria.
However, a comparison of the points raised in the letter against the final Douma report makes it amply clear that the OPCW not only addressed these points, but even changed the conclusion of an earlier report to reflect the concerns of said employee.
Unusually, in the case of the Douma attack, the OPCW issued two reports. The first was an interim report of 26 pages published on 6 July 2018. The second was a final report of 106 pages, published on 1 March 2019.
The letter released by Wikileaks, dated 22 June 2018, raises concerns about a “redacted report”. The points raised in the letter are clearly not present in the interim report; however, they are present, or else are in modified form, in the final report. Therefore, it appears that the so-called “redacted report” provided a basis or early draft for the final report.

Although this letter appears to be at least superficially damaging to the OPCW, after reading the actual reports published by the OPCW it is clear that this letter is outdated and inapplicable to the final Douma report.
The letter refers to a “redacted report” that was either not published or was heavily updated before it became the final version of the report. The issues raised in the letter appear to have either been addressed with further work and research, or changed to reflect the concerns of the employee who wrote the letter.

Based on this analysis, it is clear that WikiLeaks, the Daily Mail, La Repubblica, and Stundin have failed to understand the context of this letter and the final Douma report.
If the people covering this story had actually taken the time to read the letter and the FFM reports, they may well have chosen to publicize it in a very different manner.

This is similar to how Robert Parry had no idea how photos and videos work, and wouldn't admit that you can figure out where a photo/video was taken from geographic details. He just decided that we're wrong and posted through it.

He admired the work of Seymour Hersh and Robert Fisk, and became interested in the chemical weapons issue in Syria. In 2017, during a 10-month reporting stint at IBTimes, he wrote an article suggesting the Assad regime had not been responsible for a sarin attack in Khan Sheikhoun. It quoted a widely-discredited article by Seymour Hersh which said: "The Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin."
IBTimes turned Haddad's article down with a brusque rejection note: "Its narrative is highly controversial and likely to offend and only a writer or expert of repute (e.g. Noam Chomsky) could get away with such an incendiary thesis."
Undeterred, Haddad submitted it to Counterpunch, where it was published.
After joining Newsweek his interest in chemical weapons continued. In October, he wrote a story which began: "Turkey, a Nato member, has allegedly used chemical weapons against civilians in northern Syria."

"Use of white phosphorus on civilian targets is banned by the Geneva and Chemical Weapons conventions," Haddad wrote. He obtained a quote from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) saying it had "not yet determined the credibility of these allegations" and he implied Turkey was behaving hypocritically by having recently donated €30,000 to support the OPCW's work.
The trouble with this was that Haddad had got it wrong. Legally speaking, white phosphorus is not a chemical weapon. Its use is covered by the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons – which means it's not a matter for the OPCW.

Towards the end of November, Haddad began pressing Newsweek to let him write about the OPCW whistleblower who claims there were "irregularities" in the investigation of an alleged chemical attack in Douma, Syria. Haddad was so keen to do it that he even offered to write it on his day off.
