Nvidiin čip naslednje generacije-G70

Ja, tisti ki ni se odlocen za prehod na PCI-Express, lahko mirno ostane na AGP. Zakaj bi jemal mid-range PCI-Express graficno kartico in menjal komplet, ce mas ze AGP plosco in 6800 GT/Ultra in Ati X8x0 (kakrsnokoli varjanto)? Saj so dovolj hitre graficne.

Allan: What are you guys doing differently than ATI which is resulting in better yields - is it the architecture of NV GPU's or is it your manufacturing facilities?

Adam: At NVIDIA, we have realised that when gaining higher performance out of a product, it is better to increase the efficiency of a product rather than just cranking up the core clock speeds and putting on faster memory. We have used some very clever techniques inside the 7800 series that gives us some huge performance increases, but we have kept the core clock down. The current 7800 GTX runs at only 430MHz. By having these core speeds, we also increase the yield. If you take a 6800 Ultra and a 7800 GTX, performance has almost doubled, but the addition is only 8 more pipes. What we have done, is allowed each pipe to become more efficient. As you see from our partners, the core clocks can be raised, I think XFX have one running at 490MHz on the core. What this also gives NVIDIA, is the ability to have our cards running cooler and quiet, and of course, very importantly, a single slot design.

fora je v tem, da lahko nardijo boljsi cip, majo vecji izkoristek delujocih cipov, ampak na racun manjsih frekvenc. ati je pa mogu nadomestit pomankanje pipc z visoko frekvenco, ampak zato majo zelo slab izkoristek, zato x1800XT kartic se lep cas ne bo, za ceno pa veste

seveda je to se vse NEURADNO. sm pa vidu nekje za G72, da naj bi ble graficne na voljo v q1 2006.
