I have Avid Mojo as well as Sony Vegas. I much prefer Vegas over Avid. (I'm an Avid editor from all the way back to the first Avids that used optical storage). Vegas gives you much, much more feedback in real-time for almost any effects you throw at it. Editing in 24P improves performance quite a bit. (It's a 60% less load on the CPU to edit in 24P mode). The audio in Vegas cannot be beat, even with ProTools. The scripting, as Edward pointed out, is simply incredible. You can automate so many things, and it is such a timesaver. Here's a big one: multiple instances. You can open as many separate instances of Vegas as you wish. Copy and paste between. On a dual CPU system, you can even have several different instances all rendering in the background while coninuing to edit. I've got my hands on every NLE I possibly can, and I own several. I have found NOTHING that can truly compete with Vegas below $80,000.
