Another, somewhat controversial, explanation is the amount of testosterone a fetus is exposed to
in the womb, which may affect brain and immune system development.

Jest samo dokaj zanesljivo vem, da % levičnih s starostjo pada - in povedal sem, kam se nagiba moja razlaga.

Vseeno je, kakšen je povečan vzrok smrti levičarjev. Sem samo rekel da je - IMHO - to realen fenomen.

A study claiming to show that left-handed people die
nine years earlier than right-handed people relied
faulty statistical methods, according to scientists who
have reviewed the research. The study was published
the New England Journal of Medicine two weeks ago, and
received wide press coverage.
Stanley Coren of the University of British Columbia
and Diane Halpern of the California State University
San Bernardino relied on death records for their study.
They obtained records of 987 people who died in two
counties of southern California. Family members told
Coren and Halpern whether the deceased people were
right or left-handed.
Coren and Halpern then calculated the average age
which the right and left -handers died. Right-handers,
turned out, died at the ripe old average of 75. Those who
preferred their left hand died at an average of 66.
But Coren and Halpern never found out how many left
and right -handers there were in those two counties

a result, their results “mean absolutely nothing”, says
Tricia Hartge, an epidemiologist at the National Institutes
of Health.
The American Academy of Actuaries also issued
statement calling Coren and Halpern’s methods “faulty”.
Richard Labombarde, an actuary with the private firm
Milliman and Robertson in Washington, says that Coren
and Halpern’s research reminded him of methods used by
actuaries 200 or 300 years ago.
Coren and Halpern’s result, says Hartge, may simply
reflect a well-known fact: the average left-handed person
in the US is significantly younger than the average righthanded
person. This may have nothing to do with the life
expectancy of left -handed people. It is probably due to the
practice, common until recent decades, of forcing lefthanded
people to write with their right hands in school.
Because the population of left-handers is younger, the
left -handed people who die will, on average, be, younger
than right -hander people who die, says Hartge.
Coren denies that historical practices of forcing left -
handers to change could have produced his data. He says
that it is very difficult to persuade people to switch hands,
and even then, the people may write with the right hand
and do most other things as they did before.
But both Hartge and the Academy of Actuaries
dismissed the significance of Caren’s historical studies,
saying that only a valid study of life expectancy could
resolve the question. This would require taking two
matched groups, one of left-handed people and the other
of right-handed people, and keeping track of how many
die as they get older. Apparently no such study has been
done.

Zadeva je odprta, kaj moja malenkost (na osnovi zelo zdrave pameti) misli - sem pa tudi že povedal.

Sej problem je v tem, ker statistika je tukaj švoh. Ja - sej kje pa ni? No, statistika kot matematika je na visokem nivoju. Kot empirija, kot podatki iz opazovanj je pa ponavdi švoh ali celo podn. Se strinjam s tabo, da so včasih zatirali levičarjenje. Ampak še bolj so zatirali samozadovoljevanje - ampak a misliš, da so ga kaj zatrli? Dvomim. Tko da dedek 80 let star, ti bo po moje le zaupal, da je levičen. Ne bo ti povedal, koliko sperme je lastnoročno pridelal. Da mu je levica bolj pripravna, pa najbrž le bo priznal.

Ampak nekako takih dedkov (tudi babic) v populaciji 80+ baje kar ni. To bi lahko pomenilo - IMHO - le eno. Da so red že povečini umrli. Logika je neizprosna.

Thomas: Ne gre za dedke, gre za ljudi k so zdej stari 35-45let in pišejo z desno čeprav so po defaultu levičarji in vse ostalo delajo z levo. Statistika je pa tuki zelo švoh ja.

Najbrz res ampak frekvenca s katero seva monitor je bistveno manjsa od frekvence s katero seva mikrovalovna pecica. V bistvu, mikrovalvna pecica dela tako, da se trudi zanihat molekule vode v stvari, ki jo pac grejes...

... v nasem telesu je pa tako ali tako samo 70% vode... ;) Ni strahu! :P
