Darkborn [Project Wight]

Project Wight is no ordinary RPG. Turning its focus to the person on the other side of your sword, it offers a unique spin on a familiar form, that could only come from a team that do things their own way.

Exclusively revealed on stage at Unite ‘16 in LA, the Project Wight gameplay points to a thoughtfully-crafted RPG with a great deal distinct about it. Rather than seeing the hero charge in to destroy NPCs, it asks what an RPG trope is like from the perspective of the other characters in the game – the outsiders.

Taking in a diverse range of influences, Project Wight is inspired by monster movies, surrealist poetry, heavy metal album covers and myriad other sources that fascinate the studio's team.
Perhaps most revealing is Goldfarb’s original inspiration - a novel he read as a young man, Grendel, which tells part of the Beowulf poem from the perspective of the antagonist. Today, as it was two decades ago, the 1971 book chimes with the developer's instinct that the most compelling stories are those that belong to the misfits.
