Jeruzalem ima vendarle samo simbolen pomen, če bi bile članice UN dosledne, bi bil Izrael že zdavnaj pod sankcijami. Ko oz. če se bo odločalo o čem dejansko pomembnem, bojo spet vsi na partijski liniji.

Res je Kitajska je s težko roko reagirala na vsakršno opozicijo, ampak v 1950-ih je bil ves svet tak, morala se s časom spreminja, ko so npr. Angleži osvajali Tibet so bili še veliko bolj kruti, so prosili regiment lokostrelcev, ki je prišel braniti Lhaso, da za par minut ustavijo konje, da se naredi nekaj zgodovinskih fotk, potem so pa brez milosti vse potamanili s svincem.

Doslednost članic UN nima takšne teže kot doslednost petih stalnih članic VS OZN. Dejansko pa govorimo o treh blokih: Kitajski, Rusiji in ZDA. Če bi te države resnično sodelovale, kot je kazalo eno obdobje, bi določene mednarodne norme lahko postale kodificiran del mednarodnega prava. Ker pa prevladujejo interesi posameznih držav, tudi VS in celotne ZN ne morejo delovati kot načelen organ, temveč vijugajo med interesi velikih. Na koncu imamo zaradi tega težave vsi, tudi državljani velikih.
Kar me preseneča je predvsem ignoranca ZDA do legitimnih odločitev demokratično izvoljenih predstavnikov zahodnih držav in otročja užaljenost ter kazanje s prstom. Da Kitajska in Rusija nista demokraciji je popolnoma jasno, bolj zanimivo je, da sedaj tudi ZDA odkrito kažejo popoln prezir do demokratičnih vrednot in reprezentativnosti držav, kar bo najbolj škodovalo njim, saj izgubljajo še tisto kredibilnost, ki so jo imele. Glede na svetovni nazor njihovega predsednika pa to dejansko ni nobeno presenečenje. In glede na grožnje z odtegovanjem financiranja bi morda bilo smiselno začeti razmišljati o selitvi sedeža OZN na drug kontinent.
V Siriji se medtem kuha resno čiščenje HTS & Co. Assad ni nič dobrega, je pa najmanj slaba alternativa izmed kopice slabih. Vsaj dokler bo držal dogovor s Kurdi.

To, kar imenuješ prezir ZDA do demokratičnih vrednot ni direktno povezano s Trumpom, ampak je nadaljevanje neo-konzervativne zunanje politike, ki jo gledamo že 20 let, predvsem pa po 9/11, na zunaj vojna proti terorju, dejansko stremenje k full spectrum dominance, Project for new American century ipd., svet pod vodstvom ZDA, ker kaj pa vemo kaj imajo Kitajci (in tudi Rusi) za bregom, morda bi nas vse zasužnjili, če bi postali hegemon ali bi prevzel oblast kak populist.

Ne gre za opravičevanje, tudi Kitajski je mogoče Tibet očitati, ampak vendarle, Kitajska je imela pred osvoboditvijo Tibeta z njim stoletja zgodovine in povezav, res so ga zasedli v imenu ideologije, ampak tega niso nikoli niti skrivali in za 95% Tibetancev je bil prihod Kitajcev pozitiven dogodek in vsaj del Tibetancev je spremembo tudi podpiral. Poleg tega so Tibetanci ohranili določeno stopnjo avtonomije in svobode, Palestina pod Izraelci je pa efektivno zapor na prostem.
To dvoje je kot bi primerjal nahod in kugo.

Antisemitizem dejansko ne obstaja, je samo družben konstrukt in priročna etiketa za diskreditiranje kritikov in usmerjanje pozornosti s sporočila na prinašalca sporočila.

Za Rusijo in Kitajsko vemo bistveno manj, čeprav tudi oni objavljajo določene dokumente. Rusija je tukaj večji vprašaj kot Kitajska in bo npr. zanimivo videti ali je Siriji dejansko pomagala kot zavezniku, ali pa bo za svojo pomoč zahtevala kakšno veliko odrekanje Sircev. Sovjetska komunistična oblast in kitajska KP pa do drugih držav, čeprav precej pragmatična, nista delovali enosmerno izkoriščevalsko in neokolonialno kot zahodne sile. Resda to zahteva čas in enormna sredstva ter spravlja države v odvisen položaj (npr. Kuba, S. Koreja, Venezuela ipd.) vendar je končni učinek, če že ne tudi namen, pozitiven.
Kar hočem povedati je, da so ZDA vedno delovale s trdo močjo (obveščevalne službe, puči, izsiljevanja, vojne) a so se navzven kazale z mehko močjo (mediji, kultura, ekonomija, znanost), Sovjeti pa so bili v tej igri na nižji stopnji. Danes oz. že zadnjih 30 let, ZDA izgubljajo na področju mehke moči medtem, ko se Rusija in še posebej Kitajska pomembnosti mehke moči čedalje bolj zavedata in jo tudi s pridom uporabljata.

To drži, čeprav na zahodu so velik del nalog in agend držav prevzele korporacije in njihove nevladne organizacije in je vse skupaj manj pregledno, ampak ja, Rusija in Kitajska ne kažeta imperialističnih teženj, sploh če se pretekla dejanja najboljši napovednik prihodnjih, se pa z notranjo stabilnostjo in ekonomskim razvojem stvari spreminjajo, treba je ščititi resurse in trgovske poti, glede tega se kitajski interesi križajo z ameriškimi. Stvari se lahko zelo hitro spremenijo, gospodarska kriza, Xija trofne infarkt, partijski šef v Šanghaju noče več plačevati za nerazvite pokrajine, še kaka duševna motnja, itak so odločevalci pogosto psihotiki, tko sta se začeli WW1 in WW2, brez potrebe, brez jasnih ciljev, par vročih glav z velikim egom, ko se je enkrat mašinerija sprožila ni bilo poti nazaj.

Na hitro. Nisem veliko prebiral o Kitajski in ameriške analitike je treba vzeti cum grano salis ampak v splošnem nimajo slabih izdelkov. Zdi se mi, da Kitajci zadeve počno premišljeno in dolgoročno in tudi nenadna smrt Xija ne bi pomenila hude praznine, saj stoji za njim vodstvo CK-ja in potem celoten CK. Tudi drugače so zelo dobro preučili vse razloge za padce socialističnih režimov ter prednosti in hibe kapitalizma in delajo za čas, ko bo (če bo) zahod implodiral sam vase. Če jim ZDA česa ne ušpičijo prej, npr. jedrske vojne v neposredni soseščini.
Kapital in korporacije efektivno obvladujejo večji del zahoda že zelo dolgo. East India Company je bila država nad državo v angleškem imperiju. Trump in večji del ameriške elite so dejansko eksponenti kapitala/korporacij. Bi pa to težko rekel za Rusijo ali Kitajsko. Avtoritarne oblasti običajno ne marajo konkurence in se postavljajo nad ekonomske elite. Saj bi naj tudi v demokraciji bila politična raven nad ekonomsko, a je resnica drugačna in potencialno celo bolj nevarna od prosvetljenih avtokratov, ker lahko navrže marsikaj. Saj jih bodo na koncu počistili v Idlibu, ko jih bodo imeli na kupu. Za nadzor nad takšnimi enklavami potrebuješ precej moštva, ki ga je bolje uporabiti drugje in so zato takšne koncesije razumljive. Pri IS je pa treba imeti prekleto dober razlog za kaj takšnega in to so počeli tako SDF/koalicija kot tudi režimske sile.
Drugače pa je danes že dober del dneva v teku ofenziva v severni Hami oz. južnem Idlibstanu in SAA Tigri kar lepo napredujejo, četudi so režimske sile izgubile eno letalo L-39. Nakazuje se ofenziva večjih razmer. Morda je cilj SAA tudi tukaj skrajšati črto stika z 'uporniki' na raven, ki je obvladljiva z manj silami.

Many have wondered why Erdogan suddenly decided to publicly attack Assad & claim that it was “impossible to continue with him in power”. In a nutshell, Erdogan seems to now be fully aware of how determined Damascus is when it comes to the next chapter of the Syrian war. Given Russia’s seemingly strong relation with both capitals, the hope has been that Moscow would be able to nudge both Ankara & Damascus towards a rapprochement of some sort. Erdogan in particular hoped that Russia will be able to lean heavily on Assad to make this happen.
Those who intimately followed the thinking of Damascus throughout the Syrian crisis are fully aware of the extreme disdain and anger that exists throughout the Syrian leadership towards Turkey and its role in the nearly 7y old Syrian war. Remember that when Turkish troops first entered Syria to take on ISIS in Jarabulus, it was Russian prodding & assurances that may have comforted Damascus (reluctantly) that the Turkish incursion was temporary in nature. That clock seems to have now run out of time in Damascus. Damascus has now placed two conditions before it enters into any talks with Ankara.
1- All Turkish troops must leave Syria.
2- Turkey must cut all arms supplies to the armed groups in Idlib and sever all ties with them.
Erdogan seems to have believed that Russia can easily convince Damascus to both back off or delay any impending military operations against the armed groups in Idlib & to ignore for now the issue of Turkish troop presence. He now seems to realize that his bet was misplaced. Damascus is how adamant that one cannot enter into talks with a party who acts as an occupying force. While Assad referred to Kurds as traitors and armed groups as extremists, he sees Turkey as nothing but a foreign occupying force that must leave all Syrian soil.
As Turkey ponders the when and if of its decision to pull its troops out, Damascus seems to have decided to formally start the Idlib military operations. Today marks the start and the pace is likely to pick up over the coming days. Erdogan’s latest statement on Assad must be seen from the prism described above. He now knows that the Idlib military operations are on the way and that the days when his troops can remain in Syria is not open ended.
