17 Break Out of Brazil Prison with Fake Gun -- Report
SAO PAULO, Brazil (Reuters) - Seventeen inmates escaped from a Brazilian prison in Sao Paulo state on Friday after fooling a guard with a homemade cardboard handgun, Globo News television said on Saturday.
The prisoners in the Amparo prison threatened the guard with the cardboard gun as he delivered them their meals. The cardboard came from the prison's arts and crafts workshop, Globo said.
None of the prisoners had been recaptured.
