Here is the recipe:


1) Download the AD1985 driver 3713 from ASUS:

ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/au...985WDM_3713.zip

2) Unzip the driver to a folder in your hard drive.

3) From that folder, go down to .\AD1985\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP.

4) Uncheck the read-only attribute of file "smwdmVI3.inf".

5) Edit the aforementioned file and where you find the string "ven_1106&dev_3059&subsys_80F31043", change it to "ven_8086&dev_24D5&subsys_80F31043".

6) Run the "Setup.exe" file from the AD1985 folder.


This was a major screwup from ASUS, not to change the base vendor/device ID from the INF file.
