Quality Assurance Engineer (Software Development Team) (m/f/d)

Fulltime | Remote | Flexible working hours

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who is a manual testing expert at heart but isn't afraid to get technical. Our system is sophisticated and highly integrated; we need someone who enjoys the challenge of understanding how software works under the hood. You will play a crucial role in ensuring reliability as a technical peer to our developers and a key contributor to our software quality.

We would need your energy for:

- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand project requirements and design effective test strategies for our integrated systems.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases, focusing on both the user interface and API-level functionality.
- Conduct thorough manual testing to identify and report defects, ensuring our software meets high standards of reliability and performance.
- Dive deep into the system to identify complex edge cases and work closely with the development team to ensure they are addressed.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and track issues through to resolution using our internal tracking systems.
- Provide feedback for product improvements based on testing results and occasional insights gained from direct user feedback.
- Stay updated with industry best practices to continuously improve our internal quality assurance processes.

You have the following qualifications:

- Technical Curiosity: Proven experience in QA where you've looked "under the hood" - you are comfortable testing APIs (e.g., Postman) and understanding how data flows between systems.
- Systems Thinking: You enjoy deconstructing complex workflows and aren't intimidated by software with many "moving parts."
- Testing Fundamentals: Strong grasp of functional, regression, and integration testing in an Agile environment.
- Detail-Oriented Mindset: You have a "hacker's eye" for finding the edge cases that others might miss in a sophisticated environment.
- Communication: The ability to collaborate effectively with developers and communicate clearly when occasional interaction with our users is required.
- Automation Interest: A strong interest in - or experience with - modern frameworks like Playwright is a definite bonus as we look to scale our testing efforts.

- Genuine interest in energy industry topics (ICT and energy market knowledge).
- A proactive, communicative, and responsible team player with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Enjoyment in working collaboratively with interdisciplinary and international teams.
- Excellent command of English (C1-2), both written and spoken.
