Menda si lahko obetamo Homeworld 3, ki naj bi serijo vrnil v vesolje in bil nadaljevanje drugega dela.
Homeworld details the return of the Kushan, a people exiled from their homeworld and banished to an inhospitable desert world known as Kharak. With the discovery of an ancient artifact, the Kushan discover their heritage and embark on a mission to reclaim what they had lost. The ensuing journey home forces the Kushan to confront many perils, face the truth of their mysterious exile, and finally challenge the powerful empire in the ultimate battle for the Jewel of the Galaxy, Hiigara.
In Homeworld 2, Hiigara faces a new adversary as nomadic space raiders , the Vaygr, threaten the planet's defenses. The search for a way to defeat the Vaygr leads to the discovery of the third Great Hyperspace Core, the awakening of the most destructive weapon in the galaxy, and the realization of the true destiny of the Kushan people.
Homeworld 3 follows the events of Homeworld 2. The Hyperspace gates have opened, and with them, a new era of space travel has begun. The rest is yet to come…
Igra je trenutno v fazi predprodukcije. Žal se je založnik Gearbox odločil za pot s crowdfunding kampanjo. Za razvoj pa bo zadolžen Blackbird Interactive (Deserts of Kharak in Homeworld Remastered).

First off, we want to let you know that everything is on-track with Homeworld 3’s development. We hope you’re as excited as we are for this long-awaited game.
As you may be aware, there have been recent changes at Gearbox. Due to these developments, Fig will no longer be collecting investment reservations for Homeworld 3, and all investors that placed an investment reservation in Homeworld 3 will NOT have that investment collected. Rest assured knowing that Fig never charged you for your investment reservation and that this will not affect Homeworld 3 pre-orders. In addition, the game and all associated rewards are still coming to those who purchased them.
We know that this will come as a disappointment to some of you that were waiting to invest in the success of this incredible game. Since partnering with Republic, we have changed how we do investments, and now we collect the money upfront and confirm the investments once the campaign crosses the minimum threshold agreed to by the developer and Fig. We currently have two opportunities available, starting with one that is leveraging legendary IPs like Homeworld for future remakes/remasters in an investment portfolio approach.

Homeworld 3, which was expected to launch later this year, has been delayed. Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing announced today that in order to give the developers enough time to make the game without crunch, they have pushed the release into the first half of 2023.

Developer Blackbird Interactive gave the many PC gamers who have been waiting for years to play Homeworld 3 a nice surprise today. As part of Valve's Steam Next Fest, Blackbird released a free demo of the long-awaited next game in the space-based RTS series.
The demo is actually a glimpse of the War Games mode in Homeworld 3. This co-op-themed mode combines its RTS features with some roguelite elements as well. It supports up to three players as they work together to fight against other AI ships in a series of random challenges. Each challenge that is completed by you and your fellow space combat players will unlock new Artifacts that will help to increase your ship's speed, weapons, and power. You can even unlock different starting fleets.
