'Prometheus 2? to Introduce 'Fresher' Alien Monster; Script is Finished

In an interview with The Australian (via Scified), Scott confirmed that the Prometheus 2 script is finished. The filmmaker didn't offer any details as far as when the film will hit theaters, but he did discuss the alien species fans can expect. The filmmaker teased that this new approach would be "getting away from gods and dragons" ("gods" referring to the Engineers, "dragons" referring to the Xenomorphs, it would seem).


Here's what else Scott had to say:
"[The original Alien was] the definitive dragon and he's a mother. The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with Prometheus 2, what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act."


Scott's words confirm previous reports that the Alien franchise's signature xenomorphs won't appear in the film, despite the filmmaker's admission that the creature featured in the final moments of Prometheus bears a strong resemblance to that classic villain. His comment about steering clear of "gods and dragons" does seem to contradict both the predictions of star Noomi Rapace as well as the religious and philosophical themes at the heart of the first film.


One also has to wonder if such a "fresh" direction is a wise way to go with the sequel, considering that a large part of the appeal of Prometheus was based on its perceived ties to the Alien franchise. Scott seems intent on leaving that part of the story behind and forging ahead with the characters established in the first film. It'll be interesting to see if fans come out in droves for the sequel after its predecessor's mixed reception (and the promise of a xenomorph-free experience).

RS je samo namignil da se bo oddaljil od prvega dela, torej ne bo Xenomorpha, ampak bo ustvaril povsem novo pošast:
"He has confirmed there would be a new Alien, one that would be different to those seen in Prometheus and Alien and thus Xeno DNA related. The new one would be very different."

kar pa se tiče inžinirjev, je samo omenil, da ne bo več namigoval na enačbo Engineers = Gods, ampak bo inžinirje predstavil v povsem drugi luči, kot zlo:
"going away from Gods... Ridley is refereeing to we will not be covering the connections to Engineers and Ancient Mankind’s interpretations of Gods..."

Sem pa komaj čakal na nadaljevanje ravno zaradi konca prvega dela, ker bi bilo zelo zanimivo videti, kako gresta David in dohtarca Shaw s tistega planeta na planet inžinerjev

Nisem še gledal tega filma sem pa pogledal zdaj konec in zgleda kot en nagravžrn film

Šoker? Meni se zdi bolj parodija. Je zelo dober. Po Bad Tastu je Jackson posnel še Braindead, kjer nastopijo zombiji in je še bolj krvav od predhodnika.

Ridley Scott plans three more Prometheus films before linking to Alien

Scott said "the whole point" of Prometheus was "to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself". He added: "I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction."

Prometheus 2 will arrive first on our screens. The sequel is set to debut in 2017, so if the final two movies arrive in 2019 and 2021 (based on a reasonable gap of two years between films), Scott would be at least 83 by the time the saga is finally complete.

Men je bil prvi Prometheus dober tako, da naj Scott samo snema Prometheus filme dokler je še pri močeh

Kot napisno. Prometheus je samo uvod v Alien. Alien je pa real deal:)

P.S. me veseli, da bo še toliko nadaljevanj Prometheusa. Ampak Alien je pa vseeno legenda.

Alien je legendaren, ampak meni izrecno samo prvi del. V bistvu mi je Prometheus kar 2. najboljši del v "franšizi", če lahko temu tako rečem.

Prva dva sta kul, ostali pa bolj kot neka "pogreta juha".
PS: Je še kdo opazil da je Aliens 4 skoraj enaka zgodba kot Critters 4 ?

Torej ne bo več Prometej?

Res ne vem, kaj bi se moralo zgodit, da bi po prvem delu sploh še resno jemal to skropucalo od filma.

Škoda bi bilo če bi bla Swaw mrtva ker je igralka za popizdit dobra baba.

A ni bilo v prvem delu Prometeja govora o tem, da je na ladji več Davidov in "Theronk" (ki naj bi bila tudi android) ?
Torej je povsem možno, da je David1 odletel z Shaw-ovo=Prometej2; tale Alien5-David je pa pač sintetik No2

IMHO je bila Noomi Rapace edin redeeming quality Prometheusa. Ti ze nekaj pove ko je "making of" dokumentarec daljsi in bolj gledljiv od samega filma.

No, no. Ne pretiravat. Tudi, če ti film ni bil všeč, je potrebno ohraniti kritično distanco. Film je samo od kino vstopnic zasluzil več kot 400 mio.
