Po pravici povedano je zelo dobro opisal vzporednost filma in trenutno stanje v resničnem življenju na trgu dela oz. odnos današnjih ljudi do dela in vsega.

En kup človeške drame, malce, res malce aliena, šibka zgodba, predvidljiv vsak korak, nič kaj res velikega, nič kaj epskega, nič napetega.
Najslabši alien do zdaj. Drama, ki potegne par bežnih delčkov iz prejšnji delov, ne doda pa nič svojega.
En tistih filmov, ko vmes 8x telefon v roke primeš in začneš brskati od dolgčasa. Bog ne daj, da bi šel to človek v kino gledati.

In kar predstavljam si, kaj naj bi tistih 18 minut extra, ki jih nekdo zgoraj omenja pomenilo. Malce več krize in bliskanja, ko gredo z ladjo skozi atmosfero, pa malce več kao napete hoje po tunelih, pa malce daljša scena sexa pod tušem, mogoče kakšno jokanje ob smrti koga dlje, malce daljše brizganje krvi in finalno malce daljše visenje na vrvici, nihanje sem in tja ... predno stlači tistega aliena. Obup od filma ...

Mislim res, v celi drami ni bilo enega res konkretno unikatnega trenutka. Ena šibka lepljenka momentov iz starih alienov v stilu, gremo tja, par nas bo na predvidljiv instant način pomrlo, s šibkim predvidljivim koncem. Nobenega konkretnega zapleta, nobenega razpleta, nič. Še enega konkretnega aliena niso znali skupaj spraviti.

Če so v prvih delih iz Aliena naredili ultimativno inteligentno bojno mašino, se sedaj uspešno trudjo njegovo pojavo devalvirati na minimum in lahko samo upamo, da bo v naslednjih delih kakšna druga rasa, naprimer engineerji dodali to, kar so alienu vzeli. Torej vznemirljivo, skrivnostno, mogočno bitje z nekim smislom. Ali pa bo spet samo še ena drama ...

Ovomorph (Egg)





The Ovomorph, known colloquially as the Egg, is an egg-like capsule containing a Facehugger, generally considered to be the first stage in the life cycle of the species Xenomorph XX121. They are produced and laid by a Queen.
Xenomorph Eggs by themselves are seemingly inert and are often dismissed as nothing more than lifeless vessels simply designed to contain the Facehugger. However, study has shown that they are in fact complicated organisms in their own right and that they exist in a symbiotic relationship with the Facehugger they contain.[3] They notably possess the ability to "sense" or otherwise detect when a potential host creature approaches, at which point four "petals" at the top of the Egg open up and the Facehugger within launches itself at the nearby victim.




Facehugger




The Facehugger is a parasitoid form of the species Xenomorph XX121 that hatches from an Ovomorph. It is the second stage in the Xenomorph's life cycle, and exists solely to implant a Chestburster within a host creature via their mouth. As such, it has no real offensive capabilities (beyond an ability to spit acid, which is generally only used to gain access to hosts and not for attack) and must rely on stealth, surprise or their victims being previously immobilized by an attacker to achieve implantation. Notably, a Facehugger dies shortly after its task has been completed. Facehuggers are around 3 feet in length from the tip of their forwardmost digits to the tip of their tail.




Royal Facehugger



The Royal Facehugger, also known as the Super Facehugger[1] or Queen Facehugger, is a special variant of Facehugger that is capable of implanting an embryonic Queen. While there is some debate as to how Queen Xenomorphs are created, one possible route involves a Royal Facehugger impregnating a host with a Queen Chestburster. Notably, Royal Facehuggers are capable of implanting more than one embryo into multiple hosts before they die, typically in the form of a second, regular Xenomorph embryo, which it is thought serves to act as a "guard" for the infant Queen.





Chestburster



The Chestburster (variously: Chest Burster or Chest-Burster is the infant form of the species Xenomorph XX121 and the third stage in its life cycle. It is most well known for its horrific method of gestation -- it is implanted into a host lifeform's chest cavity by a Facehugger, and upon maturing it will erupt violently from the host's chest, killing them in an incredibly bloody and traumatic fashion. Chestbursters are small, generally not more than a foot tall and around two feet long including their tails, although larger examples have been seen.



Drone



Height 8'
Weight 350 lbs

The Drone[1] is an adult form of the species Xenomorph XX121, often said to be the most basic adult caste. It is a loyal servant for the Queen, but essentially represents the lowliest class of Xenomorph, comparable to a worker ant. Drones construct Xenomorph Hives, using a resin-like secretion that they produce, and collect hosts for impregnation. Drones are easily identified by their smooth head carapaces, among the smoothest of all Xenomorphs, and they are capable of spitting cysts of acidic blood at their enemies. They average around 8 feet tall when standing on hind legs, and about 14-15 feet long, tail included.
The Drone first appears in Alien, and as such was the first Xenomorph designed and seen. Drones were also supposed to appear in Aliens, but during pre-production the creature's smooth carapace was removed out of fear the fragile dome would crack during filming, a modification that gave rise to the Warrior caste.

One particular Drone from Acheron was responsible for infiltrating the USCSS Nostromo and killing virtually all of its crew. The creature was ultimately ejected into space and incinerated in the engines of the shuttle Narcissus by Ellen Ripley.




Runner




Height 6-7'2"
Weight 200lbs - 320 lbs.

The Runner, also known as the Dog Alien or Ox Alien, is an adult form of the species Xenomorph XX121 spawned from a quadrupedal host animal (such as a dog). Runners, as their name implies, are fast and agile, and can spit acid from their mouths. Runners have variously been portrayed as being slightly larger and slightly smaller than typical human-spawned Aliens, differences that no doubt derive from the animal that hosted the creature. However, the Runner in Alien3 is around 7 feet 5 inches tall when standing on its hind legs.
The Runner was first introduced in Alien3 as the main antagonist of the film. It has subsequently appeared in many video games and other expanded universe media.




Spitter



The Spitter, also known as the Ranger, is a Xenomorph caste that was encountered by Colonial Marines from the USS Sephora on Acheron (LV-426). As its name implies, it attacks by spitting large quantities of acid at enemies, typically from some distance away.
The Spitter first appeared in Aliens: Colonial Marines and was one of several new Xenomorph castes created for the game, although its spitting attack has been encountered many times previously in the video game and movie franchise.




Warrior



Height 8'
Weight 375 lbs

The Warrior, also known as the Soldier, is the primary assault caste of the Xenomorph XX121 species and as such is almost certainly the most numerous caste of Xenomorph in existence. They are fast, reasonably tough, and savage combatants. Even in death the Warrior is dangerous, as its pressurized bloodstream will cause it to burst apart, drenching nearby enemies in acid blood. Warriors are identified by their ridged heads, and stand around 7-8 feet tall on their hind legs. They are about 14-16 feet long, including their tail.
Warriors first appeared in Aliens, but were actually the result of a last-minute design change made by director James Cameron; the original smooth Drone headpiece was considered too fragile to stand up to the rigors of filming and so it was removed, revealing the ridged structure beneath.




Praetorian



Height About 10'

The Praetorian is one of the final stages in the life cycle of the species Xenomorph XX121, and arguably the most common and widely-acknowledged form of Xenomorph to emerge from the numerous expanded universe castes. Praetorians serve as guards to their Hive's Queen or Empress and unlike other Xenomorph types, Praetorians rarely operate outside their Hive grounds. They are among the largest and most powerful Xenomorph strains. Visually, Praetorians resemble a Queen, though smaller in size (although they are still far larger than typical Xenomorphs), typically standing at least 10 feet tall.
With the possible exception of the Predalien in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, Praetorians have not been seen on film but have regularly been encountered in the expanded universe, first appearing in the 1999 video game Aliens versus Predator. They have gone on to be a staple feature of the numerous various video games based on the Alien vs. Predator universe.




Palatine



Height 15'

A Palatine is a Xenomorph that resembles a Queen-sized Praetorian or Drone. They are the Queen Mother's personal guard and are only native to Xenomorph Prime

Palatines appear similar to Drones but are much larger with the addition of having extra features around their body, such as spines on either side of their heads. Some even possess tusks. They reside in large, egg-shaped pods that surround the Queen Mother's chamber, implying that only a select few Palatines can be present at a time.





Queen

A Queen is a large form of the species Xenomorph XX121 that serves as the mother and leader of a Xenomorph Hive. Queens are one of the largest, strongest, and most intelligent Xenomorph castes, and their appearance differs from that of smaller variants, with a pair of extra arms growing from their chest and a large head crest extending rearwards from their skull.
Queens are capable of engaging in combat and are formidable opponents, but such an event is a rare occurrence. Rather, Queens usually act as stationary Egg-layers within the Hive, letting the Praetorians (or Drones and Warriors) perform any defensive or offensive tasks. A Queen additionally oversees the maintenance of the nest, a task carried out by the Drones. When laying Eggs, a Queen possesses a huge Egg sac that renders it immobile. Queens are significantly more intelligent than most normal Xenomorphs, displaying traits of wrath and vengeance beyond any purely instinctual behavior, have displayed problem-solving skills, and are also capable of issuing orders or commands to subservient castes.

The Queen first appeared in Aliens, having been designed for that film by James Cameron, and has gone on to become an iconic part of the Alien life cycle and appear in numerous other media. Queens are also featured in the films Alien Resurrection and Alien vs. Predator, as well as numerous novels, comics and video games based on the Alien universe.



Empress



Height Unknown, larger than a Queen

An Empress is another caste of Xenomorph monarch, albeit larger and stronger than a Queen. Queens are, in fact, subordinate to them and they themselves are on Subordinate to a Queen Mother.

Empress Xenomorphs are apparently rare. Their physiology has been seen to differ, with some appearing similar to typical Queens (albeit considerably larger), while others have been seen to have unique traits. These include significantly tougher exoskeletal armor compared to other Xenomorphs. Empresses have been seen to possess an ability to summon lesser castes of Xenomorph to their aid, similar to Praetorians, as well as driving all adult aliens around them into a combat frenzy, causing them to be more dangerous than usual.



Queen Mother



Height Varies

Queen Mothers, also known as Mother Queens, are rulers of the Xenomorph species; even the Queens and Empresses are subordinate to them. Queen Mothers are protected by Palatines.

The Mother's nests consist of six orbs arranged around a central orb in which they reside. These orbs contain the prized Royal Jelly which possibly molts a Warrior into a new Queen or Queen Mother when one is absent. Queen Mothers have acute telepathic abilities, able to contact their hive over vast distances. The Queen Mothers are also able to lay Eggs like a normal Queen.

The Queen Mother is an oddity among the upper echelons of aliens. For all its power, its crest isn't terribly impressive, being smooth like a Drone and only bearing one line of spines on its surface whilst having large elongated spines on it's back. The Queen Mother as seen in Aliens: Female War, unlike others, seems to lack any arms or a tail barb. The Queen Mother also appears to have several tentacle-like appendages flanking its mouth, much like the Rogue.

Zelo dobro napisana kolumna!

S prequel trilogijo je vedno enako. Nikoli ne more doseči originala. Smo že večkrat videli, na primer pri Star Wars. Po pravilu je vedno najslabši ravno drugi del trilogije, ki služi samo kot polnilo pred tretjim delom, ki potem združi zgodbo s starim originalom.
V primeru Alien franšize je sicer najslabši del Alien: Resurrection. To je bil zadnji oziroma četrti del Aliena. Tudi Alien 3 ni bil kaj dosti boljši. Če pa vštejemo še dva crossover filma Alien vs. Predator, potem sta pa ta dva še slabša.
Kar se pa tiče prequel trilogije pa je Covenant dejansko slabši od Prometheusa. To leti predvsem na zgodbo. Film sam po sebi je še vedno gledljiv in daleč od tega da bi bil zanič.

Če Alien filme razporedimo po kvaliteti potem gredo takole:

Hja težko je narediti tak film z Alienom. Prvič in drugič, ko gledaš se userješ. S časoma zrasteš in vidiš vse. Ne moreš spet imeti tisti grozen občutek, da te nekaj čaka za ovinkom. Tudi filmi so danes drugačni. Na žalost preveč je akcije in premalo je srhljivih, skrivnostnih elemenotv, ki jih film potrebuje. Za moje pojme je preveč barv v filmu. Prvi filmi so bili čisto temni, hladna kovina, neusmiljeno vesolje, prvinski strah da te nekaj lovi. Jockey k se je prvič pojavil je takoj razburkal domišljijo in postavil mnogo vprašanj.

Da. Covenant pa je cash cow polomija, s slabo izvedenimi številnimi žanri vmešanimi.
