Maxtor - disk crknu?

mam disk maxtor

serija DiamondMax Plus 8
40gb, 2mbcache, 7200rpm, ata133,

imeu sem ga priključenega na usb podaljšku - mam poseben kabel za priklopit IDE diske na usb...

ko sem ga odklopu od kabla...in potem naslednjič ponovnu priklopu stvar ni več delala

diska ne prepozna, pravi da ne mroe dostopat do njega

bios ga prepozna
windows ga prepozna (najde maxtor 6e040L0)
particijo (na disku je le ena) pokaže, a do nje se ne da dostopat

partition magic mi ne pusti formatirat, pravi da je particija BAD
prepozna pa velikost diska, particije in vse..

tudi uradni software mi pravi da je disk v errorju...čet test gre, lov levela formata pa ne nardi, javi napako "caa19688" ki pa mi nič ne powe....

winsi ga nočejo formatirat (pustijo, ampak ko poskusim formatirat, nekje na par procentih, dobim blue screen in reset)

tudi install program za windowse noče particije formatirat...

je disk res hin? oz...kaj, zakaj bi biu lahk hin? lp...

diagnostics test full pokaže vse ok

ko hočem pa lov level format naredit....mi pa vžre caa19688 in kontaktirajte maxtorja...

If you received a six (6) digit diagnostic code, please download the latest version of PowerMax and rerun the test.

What to do if PowerMax generates an eight digit diagnostic code:
Replace the drive. An eight digit diagnostic code indicates that the drive is failing and should be replaced as soon as possible. Backup your data, if possible, and obtain a RMA, provided the drive is still under warranty. The eight digit code will be required to obtain a return authorization (RMA). For information on warranty status and drive replacement (RMA) please visit our Warranty Information Page.

If your drive is no longer under warranty you should still consider replacing it with a new unit. Do not trust your data on a failing hard disk.

What does the diagnostic code mean?
The diagnostic code is used in our RMA system to validate that the drive had actually been tested by PowerMax and is not used to determine the type of failure. For a description of the type of failure read the left side of the screen in PowerMax or reference the table below. Since there are no user serviceable parts on the drive, the best thing to do is backup your data if possible and replace the drive.
