NVIDIA Lovelace (GPU 5nm)

Pri Vram čipih na karticah se to zgodi zaradi teže kartice in povešanja.. PCB se zvije, še kakšni tresljaji, morebitno prenašanje/prevažanje računalnika, pa skozi čas pride do teh poškodb.. Tukaj je verjetno šlo za podoben vzrok.

4000 serija je kot prva vpeljala ~450W modele in težke 3,5-slot hladilnike... In imamo nepredvidene posledice.

Se bo industrija izučila in v prihodnje ne bo toliko takšnih težav.

Za 5090 govorice že pravijo, da naj bi imela tanek 2-slot hladilnik, kar najbrž namiguje na AIO vodno hlajenje. Ali pa bo kak bolj robusten dizajn. Bomo videli.

p.s.: zato se tudi vse bolj pojavljajo podstavki/nosilci za kartice, ki kartico ohranjajo v vodoravnem položaju, da se ne more zviti.

Kaj se pa dogaja s stock pasto?

Nekaj časa je uber alles pri hlajenju pol pa pogrom.

Ravno na dan izida Stalkerja 2 me zafrkava Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090.
In sicer se mi ugasne pri drugem delu benchmarka Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Drugace sem testiral do kam lahko spustim power limit. In sicer pri 60% 270W izgubi samo 8% glede na stock okoli 400W.

Hard shutdowna se pa ravno od 300W naprej. Ampak kot sem ugotovil ta kartica niti ne rabi 300W, glavno da ima 16k shader enot.

Sem pa zagnal tudi 20min 3DMark Wild Life Extreme in dela normalno na stock 450W.
SOTTR sem pa probal s core in mem -100 pa ni bilo nic bolje. Tam 30-50% sanse je, da pri 300-450W naredi bench.

Napajalnik je ASUS Strix 1000W.
Kartica ima pa podporo od nove, tako da ne verjamem da je kaj fizicno narobe z njo.
Prav tako sem preveril kabel in je do konca noter.

Sicer pa ne vem ce bom izgubljal se kaj casa s tem, ker kot receno ne rabim take peci, mi 270W povsem dovolj segreje sobo.

Sem pisal na Cablemod support, kakor sem bral po Reddit, pošljejo nov kabel.

We didn't have a bad batch of cables, this is actually an issue with fragile sense terminals on the 12VHPWR connector. That's why it happens with 12VHPWR cables from other brands and Nvidia's cables as well even. It's very rare that the issue comes up though, and yeah, we'll always RMA the cable if it does come up for you or anyone else, just gotta chat up our support team about it. :)

It's not only our cables, it's just they're more present publicly because we are very active within the community so it's easy to get help here, and also we have a big chunk of the market so it looks like they're more prone but statistically they aren't any more than others with the same sense wire design.

It happens over time because it's caused by stress and pull from the sense wire, and thermal cycles can indeed weaken the sense pins so they become more susceptibile to stress. So of course when users swap the cables they don't have any issues, those stock cables were never used so they're new. But that said, it's still a small percentage that experience this issue, with or without our cable, compared to the huge amount of rigs using them.

We didn't remove the sense pins, which are required. We removed the sense wires, by bridging the sense pins and essentially bringing the same exact signal but through two of the main wires instead of the sense wires. And it's to address the black screen issue, as there isn't a melting issue with our cables.

Pa danes sem našel, da je zunaj že nov konektor ATX 3.1 12V-2x6. Ampak Cablemod jih nima. Seasonic ima pa samo kabel s tako obrnjenim priključkom, da ne pride v poštev za mojo 4090, ker gre ravno gor v hladilnik. bequiet ima pa samo iz 16-pin na 16-pin. Res neverjetno, da so po 2 letih še vedno taki problemi.
Napajalnik pa pomoje povsek OK, da sem konec 2022 vzel s 3x 8-pin. Takrat namreč nisi kar tako dobil 12VHPWR ali pa so bili 2x dražji (ASUS) ali pa neki slabi Gigabyte. Ker ne vem zakaj bi sploh hotel tak občutljiv konektor še direktno na napajalniku. Saj lahko da tam ni problem, ampak vseeno ni neke slabosti da imaš klasične 3x 8-pin namesto 16-pin.
