REUTERS: Portugal seriously considers US F-35 jets along with other options
The United States is stepping up its campaign to sell Portugal the F-35. Speaking in Lisbon today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States would make Portugal a "very competitive" offer to replace its F-16 fleet. The development adds a high-level political push to an increasingly intense competition over the Portuguese Air Force's next fighter.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel said after meeting Rubio that Lisbon is seriously considering the American proposal, while emphasizing that other options remain under consideration.
"The Portuguese state will always decide in ?accordance with the national interest," Rangel said at a news conference after the meeting. "There is one point that is also clear: we are seriously considering the F-35 proposal, just as we are considering others."
Portugal currently operates 25 modernized F-16AM/BMs, including 21 single-seat F-16AMs and four two-seat F-16BMs, from Monte Real Air Base, or BA5. The Portuguese Air Force, known as the Força Aérea Portuguesa (FAP), has not yet formally launched a replacement competition, but the aging fleet is increasingly becoming the focus of attention in Lisbon.

Alternativa so Francoska jajca Rafale. Če so Portugalci pametni se bodo odločili za F-35 tako kot večina Evrope. Španija (ko se znebi tistega nesposobneža) bo prav tako naročila verjetno 50+ F-35 in potem bodo Francozi še edina večja država z 3 oziroma 4 generacijo letal medtem ko bodo tudi manjše države kot so Avstrija že na 5 generaciji z loyal wingmen opcijo.

Aaaa.... sedaj je pa jasno, zakaj so deli F35 iz AUS potovali na Kitajsko, da bodo Kitajci izdelali dele brez Zda "kill switcha". Mogoče je tudi opcija CN "kill switch"?

Spet si se "zmotil". En let stane približno 30k dolarjev na uro. Kar je nekajkrat ceneje kot omenjeni dron. Poleg tega lahko eno bojno letalo v eni misiji povzroči tudi do 1 milijarde škode nasprotniku, zato ima tudi zdaj Iran 500 milijard infrastrukturne škode ZDA pa okoli 3 milijarde.
Poleg tega je ameriško gospodarstvo v tem trenutku približno 119x večje od Iranskega tako da moraš to tudi šteti zraven. Ameriški GDP je 32.8 Trillion Iranski pa 270 Billion tako da se to pri ZDA ne pozna kaj dosti. Moraš pa vedeti da Iran do zdaj beleži bistveno večje izgube kot tudi infrastrukturne škode v primerjavi z ZDA tu govorimo tam do 200x večje gospodarske izgube na strani Irana.
Jaz te samo popravljam in objavljam dejstva ker se mi zdi da o teh stvareh ne veš ravno dosti in se neprestano "motiš".
