Kjer je potrebna boljša varnost (bančništvo, določene državne institucije, kdor koli varnost jemlje resno) se uporabljajo strojni generatorji TRNG, pogosto kar v HSM napravah. Čudno, mar ne?

Torej, Slo-Tech "strokovnjaki" so izjemni strokovnjaki zato, ker znajo brati angleško dokumentacijo. Sicer je ne razumejo, niti je ne znajo kritično ovrednotiti, ampak to ni tako pomembno. Če v PHP dokumentaciji piše cryptographically secure, potem bo to že držalo. Škoda le, da niso napisali še military grade... >:D

Dajmo malo bolj resno.

Torej. V OS-u imaš načeloma mehanizem, ki ti omogoča dostop do entropije. V Linuxu je to tipično posebna naprava /dev/random. Seveda pa ti ta vir entropije naključnih števil ne generira kar iz zraka. Tipično se za to uporabljajo razni algoritmi, po možnosti tudi dogodki (npr. dogodki na omrežju ali kakšen drug vir naključnih dogodkov), Intel pa ima pri nekaterih svojih procesorjih tudi extension, kjer lahko naključne podatke generira Intel. Ampak za Intel se sumi, da njihov RNG ni ravno nepristranski.

Opcija 2 je pa, da za input /dev/random uporabiš zunanjo napravo. Na primer ChaosKey.

Skratka, pomembno je, kar je v ozadju /dev/random - od tega je odvisno koliko cryptographically secure ta vir entropije sploh je.

Ko govorimo o determinističnem pridobivanju psevdo naključnih podatkov, se v praksi zanašamo na šifrirne algoritme. Zato pravimo, da je tak vir kriptografsko varen (dokler je algoritem praktično nezlomljen).

Povsem naključni podatki so veliko boljša izbira, dejansko povsem nedeterministični, ker jih ne pridobivamo z deterministično metodo, tj. šifrirnim algoritmom, pač pa opazujemo/zajemamo nek nedeterminističen pojav.

So pa tudi kombinirani načini, ko se iz neke omejene količine (s sejanjem) povsem naključnih podatkv pridobiva s šifrirnimi algoritmi večje psevdonaključne količine.

Pri spletnih streznikih, ki vse seje peljejo po SSL ta zadeva kar razbremeni proc., da ni potrebno računati s PRNG algoritmi. In se občutno pozna.

Pri spletnih streznikih, ki vse seje peljejo po SSL ta zadeva kar razbremeni proc., da ni potrebno računati s PRNG algoritmi. In se občutno pozna.

imam pa nadgradnjo za Arduino v naslednji verziji. Zunanji ADC kjer lahko veliko hitreje beres in z vecjo natancnostjo.

p.s. Originalni z STM32 kontrolerjem ima vecji prenos kot arduino.

Če sem prav informiran, naj bi bila idealna Monte Carlo vrednost za Pi enaka pravemu Pi. Torej je "tvoja" vrednost (3.141996568) zelo v redu. Tudi entropija ter kompresija je videti zelo v redu.

Ce sem prav zracunal bi naj to bilo okoli 5Gb velik fajl. That's doable. Bom probal zajeti podatke v bljiznji prihodnosti.

Sem pa naredil korak naprej tudi z STM32 verzijo. 3.3V napajanje sedaj dela. elf fajle sem spremenil v bin.
Ni mi se jasno kako program zapect v STM32. Bootloader ni problem, to bom s stlink utility naredil. Samo ne vem pa kaj uporabit za chaoskey program.
Malo testiranja se v prihodnjih dneh.

Quick update:

Z ARM-om zaenkrat nic uspeha. Mislim da je problem v tem ker uporabljam drugo ohisje kot original nacrt in zato koda, ki jo imam ne dela. Bom ob priliki poizkusil spisati svojo, samo da sprobam hitrost.

Delam pa na nadgradnji arduino verzije vmes ;)

btw, ce kdo hoce arduino verzijo, bo lahko dobil zlotanega kmalu.
Samo nekaj komponent moram se narocit in arduinote k mi je zmanjkalo.
Imel jih bom 10 komadov na voljo :))

se eno vprasanje glede arduinota. Trenutno je tako narejen program, da entropija skoz laufa in nonstop posilja podatke na USB
kljub temu da ni nic priklopljeno.

razmisljal sem da bi naprogramiral AT komande sistem kjer bi lahko vkplapljal izklaplajal entropijo in bi vracal random vrednosti samo na ukaz, ne nonstop. Je ena opcija za software ce komu bolj prav pride. Druhace se pa comport odpre v kateremkoli programskem jeziku in beres byte ven, ki so random iz entropije.

Diehard testi (ali Đorđevi - to smo včasih uporabljali), Monkey,... vsi pravijo, da so zadeve takšne, kot naj bi bile. "Pseudorandom comparison" je .26 (to mi je sumljivo - iz moje strani).

Imaš dober random generator. (Škoda, da nisi napisal bandwidtha. Sicer pa, kaj lahko nastaviš bandwidth? Tako kot pri nekaterih starih PCI karticah, ko smo šli nad neko mejo se je vse podrlo.)

bandwith je 30kB/s. Z malo tuninga prisel na 60kB/s. In zadnji testi so bili vsi zajeti z 60kB/s (tudi dieharder).
Bandwith sem nastavil dovolj nizko v kodi da se randomness ne podre 8-)

en update.

sestavil testno vezje na "vizitki" ki se poveze na rPi. Zadeva dela, ampak je trenutno precej pocasna. samo okoli 12kB/sec.
Overhead predstavlja sam linux driver. Moram zamenjat driver, ker bi morala teoreticno zadeva it precej hitreje kot to :)

Se pa izgram trenutno s svojo verzijo USB kljuca ki ima STM32 mikrokotrnoller. In zadeva zgleda precej obetavna.
Sedaj sem toliko kode za uC napisal, da lahko dejansko kaksen test pozenem ko dumpnem entropy pool v fajl.

samo plato dobis zastonj, je delana kot business vizitka za firmo in nisem imel namena prodajati :)

Zlotana je pa v rangu nekje 10-20eur, ker ni na plati nic drugega kot par cipov ter upori in kondenzatorji.
Sem pa trenutni prisel s to vizitko na isto hitrost kot z mojim 1. prototipom ko sem bral z arduinotom (okoli 60kBajtov na sekundo)
Problem je da OS predstavlja precejsen overhead. Moram se potestirat koliko profitiram ce berem z STM32 to vizitko, ker ADC mora laufat z 3MSPS (3 miljone vzorcev na sekundo, 50x vec kot rPi bere trenutno)

Ta drugi test z USB kljucem so tudi precej obetavni. Hitrost branja okoli 250kBajtov, pri nekaterih algoritmih celo prek 350kB/s, samo nisem se dokoncal testov entropije.
Trenutno sem nastavil proto plato na jenkins, da lahko avtomatsko kodo kompilam in nalozim na usb kljuc (ima gor arduino bootloader za STM32F103xx cipe), sedaj moram dodati se
da zajame entropijo v fajle in potem pozene par ent in dieharder testov :)
