Mercedes GL 420 ukraden v Nem. zaplenjen v Ukr. je sedaj služben avto za ministra

A €75,000 ($99,000) Mercedes GL 420 was reported stolen by two German businessmen last year. The vehicle found its way to the Ukrainian border where it was confiscated and seized by authorities, despite technically belonging to Mercedes Benz which had lent the car to the businessmen.

Der Spiegel reports that despite an Interpol alert, it was ruled by a Ukrainian court that the vehicle did not have to be returned to its owner. Ukrainian law allows authorities to seize stolen property for itself.

Now, with the car being used as the official vehicles for the country's justice minister, some critics are saying that it should be returned to Germany with the whole situation sounding a little shady. The possibility that an illegal car-stealing ring supplying the Ukrainian government with vehicles has even been mooted.
