Verjetno bi se spodobilo omeniti LZ design d.o.o. iz Logatca (mala družinska firmica, sin in fotr Žnidaršič, zagnana jadralca in inovatorja), ki je dobil Lindberghovo nagrada za najboljši električni letalski pogon.

This system is a unique application of electric power that is something really new on the scene. Besides being available on the LAK sailplanes, the system is also commercially available to other builders and is already featured on the Alisport Silent 2 Electro self-launching sailplane. The folding propeller is a novel design that enhances flying safety with “one button” instant power and very low drag when in the stowed position.


Ata Žnidaršič je razlagal, da sta dolgo iskala primerno lahek in močan elektromotor, in ga nista nikjer našla, pa ga je kar sam naredil:)
After evaluating available electric motors on the market, it was clear that there was no suitable electric motor which would fulfill our requirements. The weight of motor could be a maximum 7kg so that 27kg of batteries could compensate a nose-heavy moment. But its construction needed to be strong enough and suitable for instalation.

We decided to design our own electric motor. After two years of work, many tests and a few development versions, we have created a state of the art brushless DC electric motor. Our BLDC motor offers several advantages over brushed DC motors including higher efficiency and reliability, reduced noise, longer lifetime (no brush erosion), elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, more power, and an overall reduction of electromagnetic interference.


Lindberghova nagrada za najboljše električno letalo je pa tudi šla v Slovenijo, k Pipistrelu.

Zanimiv korak, da je pogon na sprednjem delu (ponavadi je za pilotom). Malo me moti, da ne najdem na njihovi strani konkretnih podatkov o performansah tega letala.

Drugače pa super, več ko se bo delalo na tem, prej bo tehnologija zrela za vsakdanjo uporabo. Pri nas se večinoma za vleko jadralnih letal uporablja motorna letala, ampak to postaja predrago. Tudi vleka z vitli ima svoje slabosti. Malo je jadralnih letal z lastnim pogonom.

Morda pa je to res prihodnost.

Z zvečanjem popularnosti in dostopnosti LiPo baterij je bilo samo vprašanje časa kdaj se bo to pojavilo na pravih letalih.
