- HP Pavilion: dv1000, dv8000, and zd8000 series.

- Compaq Presario: v2000.

- HP Compaq: nc6110, nc6120, nc6220, nc6230, nx6110, nx6120, nx4800, and nx9600.

(The Compaq Presario V2400, Compaq nc6140 and nx4820 are included in the worldwide recall programme, but HP has not placed these units on the market in the EEA/EFTA). Affected packs will have coding starting with A0, L0, L1, or GC. (Note that not all packs with this starting code are affected however.) Verification of the complete code by HP is required. Products manufactured during the period from December 2004 through March 2006.

Description: There are four different battery pack designs, each of which is compatible with a subset of the listed notebook computers. The date code is embedded in a code printed on an adhesive label affixed to the inner surface of the battery pack. (The battery pack must be removed from the notebook computer to allow access to this label.) The vast majority of affected battery packs will have been included with the 15 models of notebook computer to which they belonged. These notebook computers were last placed on the market around early 2006, and it is very likely that all packaging will since have been discarded.
