Artemis II bo prvi poskusni polet s posadko raketnega sistema Space Launch System in vesoljskega plovila Orion okoli Lune.
Če bo vse po sreči se bodo 8. februarja prižgali motorji na raketi, katera ima drug namen za človeštvo kot pa uničevanje ipd.

Upam da se Challenger ne ponovi ampak zgleda ni daleč.
The OIG identified three issues that could potentially kill the crew on Artemis II:
Heat shield spalling.
Impact from heat shield fragments.
Bolt erosion.
So Orion had come back from the moon with damage severe enough to kill a crew three different ways. Not good!
In a nutshell, heat shield expert and Shuttle astronaut Charles Camarda, the former Director of Engineering at Johnson Space Center argues that NASA is demonstrating the same dysfunction that led to the Columbia and Challenger disasters. Faced with an unexpected engineering failure, it has built toy models to convince itself that the conclusion it wants to reach (it's safe to fly) are supported by evidence. These toy models are not grounded in physics, but because they appear to be quantitative, they create a false sense of security and understanding, an epistemic fig leaf for management to hide behind.
Put more simply, NASA is going to fly Artemis II based on vibes, hoping that whatever happened to the heat shield on Artemis I won't get bad enough to harm the crew on Artemis II.

Upam, želim jim tehnično popolnost, malo sreče in božje pomoči.
V vesolju si bodo itak morali pomagati sami.
Razen preverjenih motorjev rd25 iz šatla se spet postavlajo mejniki prihodnosti.

Ali bi raje šli na luno ali v podmornico?Sam takoj izberem luno in ne podmornice. V tisto kišto pod vodo me nihče ne spravi.
V vesoljskem plovilu greš po gobe vsaj z veličastnim razgledom, če gre kaj narobe.

Ni nujno. Lahko se počasi dušiš v kakšnem zračnem žepu v temi in mrazu.
V vakuumu te zmanjka v par sekundah, brez bistvenega neudobja. Pa hkrati lahko imaš nor razgled.

Lunino gravitacijsko polje. Ampak kolikor vem ponavadi besedo orbita uporabljamo v smislu trajektorije, ki omogoca krozenje okoli telesa. Zato tudi uporaba besede "flyby".
