Izraz se uporablja za "side scroller, platformerje", s kamero in gibanjem 2d, ki pa so v polnem 3d okolju.
Ne, Doom in Duke3D sta bila oba 2.5D
Načeloma se strinjam, čeprav sta oba omenjena že bližje 3D igri, saj je osnovna geometrija (stene, tla) 3D.
2.5D igra naj bi bila igra, pri v kateri se lahko pomikaš tudi v globino na dvodimenzionalni podlagi. Moje skromno mnenje je, da so to bolj ali manj (vse) izometrične igre.
Ta video poda napačne informacije, saj meni, da je uporaba več slojev (layerjev) že 2.5D, ker dobiš globino. To je napačna definicija tega pojma.

Ravno prejle sem pregledoval razne trailerje, gameplaye... ocene ima okrog 80/100 oz. 8.0/10.00... kar sem gledal še danes... zadeva zgleda cute... level design je pisan... fantasy... kar sproščujoče, akcije je bojda tudi dovolj, kar za mene ni nek ultimativen faktor... jaz bi rekel, da je zelo solidna igra... na enem mestu je nekdo napisal indiana jones, the goonies in alice in wonderland blended inta komentar je imel največ odobravanja... po mojem zanimiva zadeva tale Blacktail... je pa menda potreben še kakšen patch, ne spomnim se kaj je že prej rekel, ampak nekaj precej osnovnega nagaja, kar pomeni, da bo tako pri prvem patchu vse poštimano... moram tudi sam tole probat...
