External hard drive in the computer

I have a WD 5TB and WD My Book 3TB external disk. Can I put these two drives into a PC or a PC? NAS? On the network, I read that some external USB drives connect as part of the disk and then you can not connect to the normal computer. For these two models, I can not find information on this method.
