Večina civilistov na od islamistov zasedenih območjih nima težav z režimom in tam ostanejo tudi po prevzemu območij s strani režima. Poleg tega jih islamisti uporabljajo kot živi ščit in poceni suženjsko delovno silo. Ko bodo prišli zeleni avtobusi, ne bodo v njih sedeli številčni civilisti iz Ghoute temveč islamisti in njih družine.

There are similar incidents every day. One house near to Rania’s was hit by a rocket and a mother and her three-year-old child were killed.
As a result of this, Rania says that people in her district speak about “what is happening in Ghouta in a very negative way”. This means they are all in favour of the use of maximum force against it.

Noup, Assad ima neporavnane račune z islamisti, ki so v V. Ghouti zadrževali civiliste in obstreljevali Damask. Nihče pameten ne bi spustil teh ljudi v svoje zaledje brez poglobljenega preverjanja, to je popolnoma normalen postopek.
