Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history. Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.
As a Working Student in IT Support, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the day-to-day IT operations in our Ljubljana office, as well as supporting our remote employees across Europe and Asia.
Our team handles onboarding/offboarding, device lifecycle, daily support, and office IT infrastructure — including video conferencing setups. You will work closely with a friendly and experienced IT team to help maintain devices, support users, and contribute to a great digital experience in our offices. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical and communication skills in a real-world environment while continuing your studies.
You’ll learn and work with tools such as Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Jamf, Office365, NinjaOne, and Atlassian (Jira, Confluence). Thorough guidance and support will be provided as you build experience in professional IT support. Ideal candidates will demonstrate an interest in IT, have curiosity about scripting and automation, and exhibit a readiness to help others and contribute in a technical work environment. This is a part-time, in-office position based in our Ljubljana office 20 hours per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Device preparation & support: Assist with preparing laptops for new employees, including setup, configuration, and wiping of returned devices.
- User support: Help the IT team by providing first-level support to employees using Windows and macOS devices. This includes helping with common hardware and software issues.
- Video conferencing solutions: Support the setup and maintenance of meeting room equipment (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Polycom systems), and assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Help the team with onboarding and offboarding tasks, such as setting up user accounts, preparing devices, and collecting equipment.
- Assist in documenting IT processes and checklists, and help the team identify ways to improve daily operations.
- Work closely with IT colleagues across our European offices, learn by doing, and contribute to a friendly, supportive team environment.

What You Bring:
- Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university.
- Ability to collaborate and maintain good customer service while working with others.
- Fundamental knowledge of Windows or macOS.
- Professional working proficiency in English, the language of the company.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to follow guidance from experienced IT professionals.
