The Company
Databox, a fast-growing SaaS company that helps other companies monitor and improve their business performance, is looking for an experienced Data Engineer, who will be responsible for developing and continuously improving data pipelines.

The Team
Our Product and Engineering team has 45 members with extensive experience in UI/UX design, frontend/mobile/backend development, product growth, and analytics. Our backend infrastructure is split into several major components, including data calculations (crunching user data), data rendering, application business logic, and other traditional MVC components. The majority of our applications and services are built using Node.js, Typescript, Python, PHP, and .NET. PostgreSQL is used for our databases and our main data warehouse. Our warehouse is growing rapidly, and loading, transforming, and calculating the data is becoming more and more challenging.

As our needs evolve, we keep exploring new tools and ideas and love working alongside people who are willing to try new things. Mentoring, code reviews, writing tests, and engaging in blameless postmortems are only some of our core engineering principles. The Work
-Build and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines
-Implement data ingestion and transformation processes for analytics
-Build data-intensive solutions that are highly available, scalable, secure and cost-effective
-Perform data validation tests
-Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshooting
-Integrate data from multiple data sources for other teams and platforms
-Cooperate with other teams to come up with the best technical solutions

Od kandidatov zahtevamo

The Skills
-3+ years of experience developing data processing and storage solutions
-Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
-Understands efficient data warehousing designs
-Programming skills (Python is preferable)
-Experience with building scalable data engineering pipelines
-Good knowledge of distributed processing technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Dataproc)
-Getting-things-done attitude

Nice to have
-Understanding of data streaming concepts
-Experience using container-based technologies
-Comfortable with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Cloud Composer
-Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP is preferable)
