Edge of Tomorrow Sequel Gets Title and Return of Emily Blunt
In an interview with Collider, Liman confirmed that the new movie will be called Live Die Repeat and Repeat, a nod to the tagline and later title that was given to the film for digital and home release, Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow. Blunt is on board to reprise her role as Rita Vrataski, along with Cruise as star Bill Cage. Liman previously said the movie will be a sequel that’s actually a prequel, playing on the film’s use of time to subvert people’s expectations of what a sequel should be like.
“We have an amazing story! It’s incredible! Way better than the first film, and I obviously loved the first film. It will be called Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when,” Liman said.

Meni je bil izredno zanimiv film, ker pred tem nisem vedel o njem nicesar in tudi trailerja nisem videl. Izredno zabaven del je bil seveda respawn po vsakem podletelem poskusu Toma Cruisa. Glede na to, da tega elementa presenecenja ne bo v drugem delu vec, me zanima, kako bodo napisali scenarij za drugi del, da bo vsaj tako dober, kot prvi del.

Ja prvi del je bil še meni zelo dober, tko da upam da s tem sequelom ne bodo zasrali dobrega filma...

Tudi meni je bil film fenomenalen. Tudi sam nisem o filmu vedel ničesar preden sem ga pogledal. In od takrat naprej ne gledam več trailerjev in na splošno nič nočem vedeti o filmu, razen naslova in kdo igra. Sem ugotovil da so mi potem filmi bolj všeč / ali manj.

Režiser Doug Liman : "I think what people tend to do with sequels is they just make them bigger. And I'm like, 'No, a sequel should be smaller.' You did the first film as sort of the ad campaign for the sequel, so now you don't need as much action, and in the case of Edge of Tomorrow, people obviously loved the comedy and they loved the situation ... so we can do way more focus on Tom's character and Emily Blunt's character, and there's a third character in the sequel that's gonna for sure steal the movie. We can focus on that. I don't need an action sequence every two minutes.

A ni bilo receno, da bo sequel v bistvu prequel? Kjer bo imela glavno vlogo Emily? Ne vem, kaksno vlogo bi/bo tukaj imel Tom, ki bi bila relevantna.

How Edge Of Tomorrow 2 Will Evolve Tom Cruise's Character
You know, it's a sequel that's a prequel. That being said, he has a way better arc in the sequel. Because in Live Die Repeat, he's basically saving the world because he lives there. He really is just trying to save the girl. He has not necessarily become less of a coward [by the end], and he hasn't necessarily become a better person. As a matter of fact, that was something that was important to Tom. When we were making the movie, we would joke that he's only saving the Earth because he lives here. He would choose to just leave and go be somewhere else if he could. So his character never really makes the transformation. Vince Vaughn's character doesn't really make the transformation in Swingers. I love anti-heroes, and sometimes I love them for their anti-heroness, so you don't want to necessarily lose that. That being said, he has a proper arc in the sequel, which is why I'm so excited to make the movie.

I was not going to make a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow, I'm not really interested in sequels, I'm interested in trying new things, new places. But we came up with an idea for a sequel that's so shockingly revolutionary for how a sequel would get made, and it's so fresh and it's such a fun story. We only even started talking about a sequel because there was so much fan affection for the movie, that people started asking us about a sequel. There was so much love for the film. It used to be that people come up to me and talked to me about The Bourne Identity. But Edge of Tomorrow is the one that people constantly come up and talk to me about. There's so much affection for the movie we at least owe looking at it to see if there's an idea for a sequel and we came an idea that I can't stop talking about.

Za enko lahko tudi jaz potrdim, da je damn good movie...če upoštevamo stanje filemske industrije trenutno.

Ja, meni je bil tudi izredno všeč.
Si pa malce težko prestavljam, kaj bi lahko 2. del pokazal. Enka je bila lepo zaključena celota.
Naj bi se dogajalo pred prvim filmom kaj več pa ni znanega.

Rita Vrataski is the most decorated soldier in all of the United Defense force. She is notoriously known for killing over 1,000 Mimic aliens in combat, a feat that is declared virtually impossible for anyone else but her. Rita's legendary status began at the Battle of Verdun when she killed hundreds of Mimics by herself.
