On July 23, 2015, Christian and Yvon Tremblay announced a Kickstarter campaign to revive SWAT Kats, seeking to produce a new series, and if possible, a 70-minute film.[8] On July 24, one day after the campaign began, the Kickstarter successfully reached its first funding goal of $50,000, needed for production of concept art and promotional material, which the pair had aimed to use to help them find an investor who would be interested in helping with the revival.

A more major goal of $200,000 would allow the pair to produce a 22-minute episode, while a pledge total of $1,000,000 would allow them to do a mini-series of five episodes. Their highest pledge, $1.5 Million or more, would help them to make a film of the SWAT Kats. The campaign ended on August 22, 2015 with $141,500 pledged, and already passing another goal of $100,000 will help to create a 2-minute long trailer of how the series should look.

After the death of Joe Alaskey on February 3, 2016, the Tremblay Brothers have started development on the trailer, in which they will show to a TV company in order to have the green light for production on SWAT Kats Revolution on February 17, 2016 (which was the first SWAT Kats entry produced without the assistance of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, who died in 2001 and 2006 respectively).

Christian Tremblay along with Warner Animation have managed to convince, Warner Bros into bringing back Swat-Kats on Boomerang Chanel / Cartoon Network, but were unable to convince the parent network to commit for a new series, and thus passed on the project. Tremblay is currently working with investors, to create independent episodes of Swat Kats that will available online for streaming. Tremblay is also talking to VOD, looking at all the possibilities to accomplish the goal of producing new episode.

Mene to tudi zanima, samo a bodo to naredili v risani obliki ali kako? Sicer pa , a ni bil swat kats ena moderna različica?

heh, se spomnim kako sem bil razočaran, ko so začeli moje risanke (npr. dragon ball z) nadomeščati s klasikami kot je recimo



In bilo je precej jasno, da je bila ta menjava izvedena prisilno (saj so pogosto par sekund zamujali). Zadeva se je začela dogajati sočasno z ukinitvijo (scrablanjem) Cartoon Networka na satelitski televiziji (doma smo imeli kabelsko).

Itak sem seštel 1 + 1, ko sem na televiziji pri dedku, ki je imel satelitsko, zaslišal intro song v dragon ball Z (doma na kabelski pa se mi je vrtel Top Cat).

Se kdo tega spomni? Ko sem bil majhen še nisem vedel, zakaj se je šlo, ampak zdaj sklepam, da je šlo med drugim tudi za ličenčnine (torej, da CN ni imel pravice predvajati DBZ-ja izven US in UK ali kaj podobnega)

Glede na Wiki zapis, smo si v tistem času tudi nehali deliti CN z Angleži.

On 15 October 1999, Cartoon Network UK officially stopped being a pan-European feed, this was when the shared transponder analogue feed on Astra 1C became scrambled with VideoCrypt and when the short-lived UK and Ireland only version of TNT launched. Prior to this date, Cartoon Network Europe moved to Sirius II to serve Eastern Europe in August 1999 and Cartoon Network France and Spain launched at the same time on 23 August 1999, leaving the ex pan-European version (which is now the UK and Ireland only version) on Astra 1C acting as a de facto free to air secondary/transitional European feed for countries preparing to switchover to their own newly launched local versions of Cartoon Network up until encryption on 15 October 1999. TNT changed its programming from classic movies to general entertainment, TNT UK ceased to exist on 1 July 2000 and was replaced with an analogue version of TCM. During the late 90s and the early 2000s, Turner Entertainment Networks International (Now Turner Broadcasting System Europe) started localising their channels to suit different audiences across different countries around Europe.
