Data Engineer @ VCG.AI

Opis delovnega mesta

We are building and scaling the global supply chain intelligence platform for the circular and biobased industry. We have the domain experts, PhD AI scientists, and the massive datasets. You will take on "messy", real-world data streams, turn them into a pristine, scalable, automated infrastructure, and become the backbone of our data team.

What you will actually do:
- Build the Pipes: Design and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python.
- Tame the Chaos: Ingest data from fragmented sources (APIs, messy JSONs, PDFs, legacy databases) and make it usable for our product.
- Own the Stack: Manage our orchestration (Airflow/Dagster), warehousing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Enforce Quality: You are the gatekeeper. You ensure that if a pipeline breaks at 3 AM, we know why, and it fixes itself.

Od kandidatov zahtevamo

Must-Haves:
- Python Expert: You write clean, modular, tested code. You treat data pipelines as software products.
- Orchestration: Deep experience with Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Architecture: Experience setting up data warehouses (Postgres/Snowflake/BigQuery) and modelling data schema.
- Cloud Native: Comfortable with AWS/GCP and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with vector databases (Weaviate/Pinecone).
- Interest in the circular economy/biotech sector.

Kandidatom ponujamo

- A full-time position solving one of the largest industrial challenges of the 21st century - how to continue producing everything we need and take for granted when that requires 2x the resources our planet has to offer.
- Work in a small, experienced and highly collaborative international team (AI engineers & domain experts) with a startup mentality, where your work and ideas will shape how we scale our data pipelines and product globally.
- 4.000 - 6.000 EUR starting salary.
- Remote opportunity with the possibility of joining the team in our Ljubljana & Stuttgart (DE) offices.
- Home office & professional development budget
