Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl Dev Reopens, Announces New Game


GSC Gameworld, the developer behind the Stalker games, has reopened and is already developing its next game.

Speaking with Gamesindustry.biz, GSC Gameworld's Valentine Yeltyshev didn't have much to reveal about the new project other than it will appeal to fans of Stalker, and that it will be a full price game. Apparently, it's also going to use the assets and engine GSC Gameworld was working on while developing Stalker 2 before the studio shut down in 2010.

Kingdom Come 2 Most Likely to be Powered by CryEngine
Our editor conducted an extensive interview with Tobias Stolz-Zwilling from Warhorse Studios. One of the topics of the interview was the CryEngine technology, which was used in the development of the RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It is more than likely that the sequel will also be powered by this technology.

“We don't want to change it for a simple reason: we've created so many tools for it, we've adapted it well enough... CryEngine hasn't been used in RPGs before. We've done so much around this engine that we're afraid abandoning it would mean starting from scratch. And considering how long it took us to get CryEngine into the game, it would simply be too much. So we hope for further good cooperation with Crytek,” the dev said.
