As a Data Engineer at Sportradar, you will work on the development of Sportradar’s data analytics platform and data pipelines to collect, transform, warehouse and analyze large volumes of sports data and data related to the use of Sportradar’s products. You will help develop and support our big data infrastructure, working closely with data scientists and BI developers leveraging the platform for analytics and AI/ML applications.

Our cloud-native platform uses a combination of managed cloud services and cloud-hosted open source frameworks to manage and query 100s of billions of rows of data and run analytics workloads such as machine learning inference and interactive dashboard applications in production effectively and efficiently.

THE CHALLENGE:

- Design, develop and run scalable, reliable, and secure data warehousing architectures and data integration/processing pipelines.
- Design, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure supporting distributed batch analytics jobs and real-time streaming analytics infrastructure.
- Data modeling for machine learning, analytics, and reporting use cases.
- Perform ad-hoc data analyses, support data scientists and analysts with their data requirements.
- Support the development of state-of-the-art machine learning, data analytics, and reporting solutions leveraging our data.
- Present technical architectures, ideas, and solutions to fellow engineers clearly and understandably, contribute to the evolution of our technology stack.
- Co-create and deliver an ambitious business intelligence & AI roadmap in close coordination with business and technical stakeholders in the Sportradar group.

Od kandidatov zahtevamo

- Demonstrated technical expertise in the following areas: databases, data modeling, ETL processes.
- Programming experience (preferably in Java) or willingness to learn
- Experience with production database administration
- Experience with data warehousing and/or big data query engines such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Amazon Athena, Presto.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL.
- Bonus: Experience working with streaming data (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Bonus: Experience with Apache NiFi, Flink, or Spark Streaming.
- Bonus: DevOps experience (hands-on experience with the design, set-up, and administration of infrastructure) and with cloud services like AWS/Azure.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Engineering, Mathematics / Statistics, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
