The Backbone unit focuses on engineering shared technical platforms that underpin all of Sportradar’s products and services. We build a diverse range of technical products with a focus on collecting, storing and distributing the data points that empower the business to operate at the scale and agility needed to deliver Sportradar’s market-leading offerings.
Our services are engineered to meet challenging requirements; they must be highly available and scalable and deliver data that can be trusted to be both accurate and low latency.
You will join the team responsible for distributing Sportradar’s data at web-scale to end users all around the world. We deliver billions of data points per day to millions of browsers and mobile devices and are building out the next generation product to support the evolving needs of our sports data content products.

THE CHALLENGE
The way in which we produce and consume data is changing, and our products need to change with it. Increasingly data is being delivered as a constant flow from multiple sources, and our data distribution products need to be able to aggregate, format and deliver that data onwards to media and bookmaker sites around the globe.
We are looking for an experienced Java developer to lead a new team of engineers that can meet this challenge and deliver high quality data that will be consumed by sports fans all over the world.

-Lead a small team of developers.
-Build and improve backend data importers using Java, Spring Boot and DynamoDB.
-Deploy services in AWS.
-Focus on testing, maintainable code, observability and alerting.
-Lead your services through complete delivery pipeline, from design, development, all the way to deployment and monitoring it in production.
-Work in a modern, collaborative development environment using GitLab, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
-As a senior developer, you will work with architects, devops and system administrators and take responsibility for tutoring junior developers.

Od kandidatov zahtevamo

-Degree in software development.
- 3+ years of professional experience.
-Excellent knowledge in Java and Spring Boot.
-Interest for distributed systems and big data.
-Hands-on experience with databases like DynamoDB or Aurora.
-Experience with modern technologies like Kubernetes, Protobuf and gRPC is a plus.
-Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS.
-A test coverage mindset and experience or interest in TDD and BDD techniques.
-Professional experience or an interest in leading development teams.
-Fluent in English (written and spoken).
