Are you interested in developing solutions for smart factories and challenges that the human eye cannot handle? In the Laboratory for Intelligent Visual Systems (LIVS) at Kolektor Digital we are looking for an Application Engineer, who shares our enthusiasm for developing systems beyond human vision and is passionate about the latest technologies in machine vision, 2D / 3D image processing, artificial intelligence, robotics and simulation technologies.

Our world-leading solutions are changing the fundamental paradigms of problem-solving using machine vision. For example, we are developing eyes for advanced robotic workers so they can efficiently handle products, orient themselves in space, and identify their assigned workstations. In product quality control, used to implement the principles of zero-defect production, we are effectively replacing human vision and using visual sensors to capture big data that allow users real insight into production and the best decision-making in real time.

Projects and tasks where you will play the main role:
At our company, an Application Engineer is not only a developer, but also an implementer, tester of new products and services, and someone who tests their applicability in practice. You will play the important role of a contact person between development and users on the technical level. Your feedback will be crucial for guiding further development activities and optimising and designing new solutions. In your work, you will use state-of-the-art hardware and software as well as solutions and components that originate from our visual platform. You will initially test the solutions in a laboratory environment and then in pilot projects with the first users.

In the field of quality control and anomaly detection, your focus will be on testing different approaches to replace the current machine vision systems with tools based on artificial intelligence and big data. In practice, these are smart IoT devices and distributed systems (server, client, cloud services). We use the same data for quality control and data acquisition, where you will monitor the operating status of machinery and equipment, detect anomalies and track the flow of materials or raw materials, semi-finished and finished products.

In summary, we need an expert like you to:
- actively participate in the development of solutions such as RoboEye, ViCAs - visual cognitive assistant, ViDA - advanced video analytics for production process optimisation and the LIVS visual platform,
- design modular and scalable hardware components for use in various applications with a focus on 2D / 3D product localisation and simple product quality control,
- independently prepare distributed visual embedded devices and integrate them into new generation industrial production lines,
- coordinate pilot projects and cooperate with other development groups within Kolektor Digital.

You will enjoy the work if you have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- professional technical education or relevant work experience,
- basic knowledge in the field of mechatronics or electrical engineering,
- basic programming skills (Python, C ++) and understanding of program code and principles of the configuration of embedded devices,
- experience in using modern CAD tools (Creo, Solidworks ...).

Not a requirement, but certainly an advantage if you know:
- components of machine vision systems,
- principles of processing 2D / 3D image information,
- solutions (and their implementation) in the field of production automation, robot applications and solutions based on computer vision,
- methods for quality control of products and production processes,
- statistical methods for quality validation,
- Linux and Jira environments.

- good communication skills and the ability to communicate easily with both technical and non-technical partners.
