Backend Software Engineer, Analytics -- brisan oglas

As a software engineer in analytics team at Celtra, you will build, maintain and improve all parts of our data processing pipeline, processing 6 billion analytics events per day, producing insights used by top brands, publishers, and agencies.

Tech stack
Our backend consists of Scala and PHP backend services, REST API and ad serving, Scala/Spark (for processing the data and S3/MySQL/Snowflake for storing the data at different stages in the processing lifecycle. We use Spark Standalone in production and Databricks for exploratory data analysis. We’re constantly re-evaluating our technical infrastructure to deliver faster, better, and more reliable software.

Od kandidatov zahtevamo

What a great candidate looks like:
Experience with AWS or another cloud computing platform
Good knowledge of Scala or knowledge of Java with interest in functional programming
JVM ecosystem experience
Exposure to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Vertica, Teradata or other MPP columnar databases
Experience in analyzing and manipulating complex, high-dimensionality data sets using tools such as Spark, Pig, Hive (or other Hadoop tools)
Strong SQL experience

Nice to have:
Open-source involvement

You care about proper engineering and clean code. You write consistently high-quality, maintainable code and are aware of industry best practices and trends. You proactively identify and clean up technical debt before it turns into a long-term problem and encourage others to do the same.

Strong troubleshooting skills. You do not fix things without understanding first why they did not work first. You are not afraid to parse logs, look at machine metrics or go deep into the code to understand what went wrong. You do not jump to conclusions, but act based on facts and evidence.

A team player. You understand that we can achieve more as a team than you would on your own.
